Well, poo......I was hoping that you at least got to spend a little time with them. Got some free merchandise.....one of those posters signed....something for taking the time. money, and effort to make and submit that video for the world to see.

I'm so agree!

thank you all for sharing your experience... but I'm kind of disappointed now
Wow! at least you got some time with them, i think... D:

anyways, congrats to the winners! and thanks or sharing your experiences <3333333
Awwww, it's cute for you people that got the price... but it still is not what I had expected. Basically they have to invest time, mind and money to get what people got for showing up early last year. The contest rules sounded TO ME like they were getting a special backstage experience; when I saw how many people entered the contest, I thought that since there were not so many, they might declare every contestant a winner and let them all have an autograph session... but if they got picky and chose only a few, I really would have expected them to get something more. Usually people getting this kind of price gets AT THE VERY LEAST 30 minutes with their idol(s) and are allowed to take pictures or video (look in youtube for Tarja Turunen singing happy birthday for a boy, when he finally regained speech, he said something like "I can die happy right now"). I really think it is an honor to be able to shake hands with VAMPS, but... simply not what most people expected.

AGREE with everything you said. I was at Paris on saturday and met two Polish girls who won. From what they told me it sounded very rushed and very formal.
You were allowed exactly only one autograph, the table was between the band and the winners (it sounded very much like a barrier to me...). I think one girl said she asked Hyde to sign her skin as well but he said no. In a very polite and friendly way, but... you know... it wouldn't have hurt anyone. When I think of everything the contestants went through with their videos I think such a rushed and overregulated autograph session is a bit of a letdown for the winners. I would have expected something more special as well.

How disappointing... if I were to win, I would have asked for an autograph on my skin so I could get it tatooed... now it's only a common autograph which if you are lucky enough to meet them outside the venue, you could get one without having made the video at all... Icon_mad
Request:

Someone posted about anyone else enterind the contest. Someone from Russia.. do you know her/him?

Only 4 days left for Shanghai concert and my fears are more close to becoming true... If that girl/boy also didn't receive nothing, would mean that no fan meeting for the karaoke contest will be held in Shanghai...

Edit:

Just confirmed... Shanghai venue is not in the contest so, no winners... T.T
Haha, I guess I was the only person that expected it to be nothing more than just a quick autograph?

I've heard of other (major) artists/bands doing some VIP ticket where you can get an autograph and other stuff but you have to pay a ton of money. (like 1k for a ticket or something like that).

So for me, the karaoke contest seemed like a good deal. A lot of people already have a camera, or know someone who does, so it shouldn't take much more than time and creativity. (doesn't have to be professional quality).

I was really expecting it to be exactly what it sounded like it was: a quick autograph and maybe a quick hello. Not hanging out with the band or anything like that.

As for signing skin... I don't blame him for rejecting. Because he is Japanese he may not be comfortable touching a random stranger, doesn't matter that it's a fan.

Personally, if I was a celebrity I wouldn't want to sign anyone's skin either. Just seems too weird and personal.

Well I remember reading somewhere (but I don’t claim it to be absolute truth, might be a rumor) that Hyde has already signed skin before.

I’d rather pay 600USD to get special experiences than trying effortlessly for a vague chance of “something”. Maybe it is because I don’t know so many japanese artists... but... tickets for Tarja experience some 3 years ago were around 350USD, and included backstage access and BREAKFAST WITH TARJA, it is not like she is a nobody, she is a well known finnish artist, so, for example, the prices to Hawaii show seemed too excessive for me. Even here in Mexico a KISS Lounge was announced, the tickets where 1,000USD each, but they included a PARTY with KISS and a buffet dinner in the KISS museum. L’arc~en~Ciel I’d expect to be expensive, but VAMPS? aren’t they supposed to be “indie” right now? And fans from countries where they don’t play, like Mexico (like me), already pay more than a thousand dollars to see them.

Maybe some people found it very easy to make a video... some others didn’t, some guys made great efforts and put their hearts on those clips, and VAMPS didn’t even comment on them.

For some reason upon reading what you posted, I wondered if the contest turned out like J- and VAMPS expected... I mean, they might have done it to be forced to give only a couple of autographs instead of a hundred, but obviously they also expected to get more people to listen to them, some viral publicity, I wonder if they got what they wanted.

Yes, there is that too... for simple syllogism and silly logic, you’d say stalkers get more than faithful lawful fans. Because fans chasing them around get to film them, more autographs, and pictures with them... more than fans that entered a contest in their terms and won :-/ Not very motivating.

ouch! Sorry about that :-(
I think every chance to get near them, means they cared enough to watch the videos and choose the people to be around them.

I think the idea of the video contest really was to spread VAMPS music more and more, around youtube, get them more known around the globe... and I think that we, that cooperated for it to be done, achieved our goals. The whole point is to show your affection and respect for their music and work, after all.

I thought about both sides, and from the point of view that they are traveling all the time, and everything is happening so fast this year for VAMPS, I think they are just not giving more time to be with the winners because they must be really tired, and must be very exhausting to keep a conversation with someone who's so touched just to see you, hoping and expecting for your best reaction and gratitude for their devotion of time and love, and you might disappoint that person because you feel too tired to chit chat.

Now seeing the other side, is very disappointing to dedicate yourself for your favorite artist, and feel unappreciated by them. But we must see that they tried their best to be there for us. Is not every artist that gives this kind of opportunity, even if you feel is 'not enough', they at least gave their fans a shot to meet them.

I believe most artists wouldn't even think about it, just if it involves money.

I'm not here to argue about what would be fair, but in my point of view, they are trying hard for their fans, always.
