They didn't play Hello yet either. I'm just dying to hear that song.

I have bruises, scratches, hair pulled and whole body hurts. I actually cried after the show because of all that happened. I mean was pushing me down on the ground really hard and I hit it really hard too. *Sigh* I didn't enjoy the show at all. I mean at all.
I hope you are ok icey. I had anticipated a good time since it was smaller venue.....not so.
I ended up 4 rows in front of Hyde....this is not where I started out nor where I wanted to be. I was crushed there by the crowd. To others who have said if you don't want smashed then move, let me tell you that you CANNOT get out. You are locked in.
My night started out by getting pummeled by two stocky boys. Then I had a large, smelly man in front of me who kept hitting and stomping on me. Then a couple of large size girls but at least they just kept stepping on me with no hitting. The worst was this one girl who just kept hitting with her body. I told her that there was enough room but she was mean. Her method of torture was to jump up and down on top of you. She really hurt the little Japanese girl next to me but of course she didn't care.
The security guards did NOTHING! They just sat on the stage. The one in front of where I was would keep shoving the crowd and knocking people down.
What is sad is that this venue is so small, that none of this needed to happen. You were able to see the band up close even from the back edges.
I hope San Diego is better.

man, i'm so sorry so many of you had a hard, bad time with the crowd. there is no justification for people so losing control that they hurt others. and some of them really seem to derive pleasure form it as they keep doing it over and over.
@iceybabes: i'm really sorry as i know how much this shows mean to you. hopefully the next 2 will be better.
@ tracy: glad you didn't get knocked down. and woohoo for getting spat on!?! ^ ^
@cathb: that kind of rough treatment is hard on us older gens, hope you are ok. personally, i don't see why people think they should throw away all sense of courtesy and normal behavior when they go to a show. you can have just as much fun NOT beating the person /s in close proximity to a pulp. *shakes head*
but at least the band was good and that part was somewhat enjoyed....?

RE: impressions
Haven't read through the thread yet, so I'll just post from my perspective. As far as the actual performance itself, it was amazing and the guys were SPEC-FRIGGIN'-TACULAR. As for the crowd, worst damn crowd I've ever been in. I had my hair pulled out, I was kicked repeatedly to move out of the way once the band started playing, and I had this girl's elbow smashing my face for the better part of the first half of the concert.
I stood my ground and held on to the two people in front of me and they were cool with it, and I got to apologize to the bleached blond Japanese girl afterward, and she was so cool about it. She actually told me to keep holding on to her so I wouldn't get pushed back.
I don't remember the setlist, but they did play LOVE ADDICT, I GOTTA KICK START NOW, VAMPIRE DEPRESSION, TROUBLE, LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS, MIDNIGHT CELEBRATION, EVANESCENT... and that's all I really remember.
Hyde was funny, telling everyone he had gambled the night before and lost. He shrugged all cute-like and was like, "Why? Whhhy?" then asked the other members if they had won. Then he teased the crowd by going, "Are you fffff..." *screams* "Are you fuuuuuu..." *more screams* "ARE YOU FUCKING READY?!"
Hyde would get up on the amps in front and there were so many people stroking his thighs, hands, face, and hair, and at first he seemed sort've surprised, but let them do it with a smile on his face. I was second row-ish and he grabbed my hand towards the end. He even spit water on my arm/side of my face.
Aside from getting mauled in the audience, the definite pros of the evening were meeting awesome people in line who we ended up partying with until 6 AM at the Hard Rock this morning. Since we were there hanging out, we got to see all the guys come downstairs around 12 or 1 AM and gamble until about 5 AM, but Ai wouldn't let these two sets of three Japanese girls anywhere near them, until oxymoron and our newest friend, Stacy, just waltzed up to Arimatsu and KAZ and got us autographs. Our other new friend, Laurence, actually got to play Roulette at the same table with them while I stood behind him pretending not to be interested that Hyde and KAZ were less than two inches from me on either side. I even pretended to be on my phone just so I could snag some video XD
I got to meet Yumeko, Usagi, Malicious, Jazmin, Talia... not sure who else. We hung out with Jazmin a little at the Wasted Space bar afterward and her pretty high heels were scuffed. According to oxymoron, the girl who was crying at the table in front of us was iceybabes, and we heard about what happened. I am so sorry, chica. We didn't know it was you, but I feel terrible that the concert was ruined because of other people's stupidity. ALL OF US got beat up. I actually have the imprint of someone's fingers on my arm, I lost a lot of hair, and my legs are still throbbing from trying to ground myself to the floor so I wouldn't be shoved out of the way.
All in all, though the crowd was fucking horrible, we walked away with really awesome new friends, the memory of seeing the guys live after so many long years of being fans, some VAMPS merchandise (one of everything!), some guitar picks, Laurence had Leon (the nice, big black security guard that was in front of KAZ) get him KAZ'S black finger nail from the man himself... long story, but it was priceless, and the funny knowledge that Hyde sucks at Roulette XD
We're actually going to go be tourists now that the show is over and done with. For everyone that was there, I hope you're doing okay today and that you have safe travels. We may be hurting and we may be pissed at the stupid people in the crowd, but we were there and got to see the guys play an awesome show. VIVA LA VAMPS!
EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot they had color-changing cups that said VAMPS they were selling at the bar. Oxymoron apparently got shoved out of the way and the crowd WOULD NOT let her out, so she pushed her way over to the bar and the guy was like, "Did you get a cup yet?" When she said no, he gave her one of every color for free. We were like "... Um, okay, thanks!"

Oh yeah, most definitely. The funny part of it is, Hyde saw me at the show, because he kept making eye contact with me and the girl in front of me, so he knew I was a fan. He kept looking at me and then I would look away like I didn't care who he was, so that's probably why they let us that close to them (Ai was glued to Hyde the entire night, so we couldn't openly ask him for an autograph). We were cool about it and didn't attack them, just gave them space and let them have fun. The autographs are cool, yes, but just getting to hang out with them for about eight minutes was so much better of an experience... even if we didn't get to have a conversation with them XD
