Not quite sure where you're getting at, but I just prefer to stare blankly at pictures of HYDE and K.A.Z than women who so freely sell their body for the pleasure of men (as that is the target audience of the pictures...) - I don't find it attractive at all.

That's not to say that I'm going to judge a girl for doing so, nor look down at HYDE and K.A.Z for publishing it. I have a strong belief that people should be allowed to do whatever the hell they want as long as it doesn't negatively impact others or otherwise prevent them from doing whatever they want, but under that same belief, I have the right to criticize them based on whatever my taste and my tastes just happen to say that I don't like looking at slutty behavior.

In short, I just want to see HYDE and K.A.Z - Fuck the naked women... you can interpret that anyway you want to =P

Wow...first people complained about the music when "Devil Side" came out, and now people are complaining about the lyrics. *eye roll* I wonder if there's anything VAMPS can do that doesn't warrant such negativity.

I don't think the response is negative so much as constructively critical...well obviously constructivism is lacking when we are not directly delivering the critique to HYDE and K.A.Z's door, but I think it shows a healthy level of fandom. There are many fans out there that will accept anything from their artist of choice, gobbling it up without question and commending it as the greatest art to ever emerge in the history of the world. I mean, look at fans of artists in the more mainstream American music market :eye roll: We all love and adore VAMPS otherwise we would not represent ourselves here in such numbers and with such enthusiasm...I, personally, don't have a huge problem with HYDE's lyric writing ability on this or any album, but I can acknowledge that it may not be his best lyrical work to date...but I still love him more than just about any other musician out there.

I think the point I am trying to make (though a poor and rambling one) that as a group we all here can acknowledge that HYDE and K.A.Z, while lovely, are still mere mortals as the rest of us are and are subject to human frailities and artistic lapses from time to time...and we're willing to own up to that despite our unflagging love and devotion for their work.............................................

Yeah, I mean, why would people complain about useless things like music and lyrics? It's not like their musicians or anything!

But in all seriousness, I think Harumi's post pretty much sums up my feelings. It's constructive criticism, which is a good thing. It would be wrong of us to just say "OH MY GOD, BEST SHIT EVER" when it's not.

I have been mulling this over, though. Consider lyrics written by artists with native English speaking ability. Especially a lot of the stuff to come out of the drug-laced 60's and 70's. Complete bloody gibberish in many, many cases lol I mean....great case in point: we all know HYDE covered The Beatles' Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. The title itself alone is perplexing not to mention the body of lyrics themselves when held up to close analysis.

"Picture yourself in a boat on a river with tangerine trees and marmalade skies." A classic song, a gorgeous HYDE cover.

WHAT THE HELL DOES IT MEAN????

And more importantly where do I find the illicit substance that will produce for me an image of a girl with kaleidescope eyes?

I'm sticking to what Hyde said. This isn't L'Arc. First lyrics are too obvious, then they're too abstract. This is why I hardly come on here anymore not that anyone cares. Everyone likes to criticize. But in the words of a great lyricist "if you don't like it, please leave right now."

You're talking as though criticism is a bad thing. Our criticism shows our love for VAMPS. Mindlessly absorbing everything is only hurting them. It gives them no direction as an artist.

I have many complaints about the lyrics for this particular album, yes. But that doesn't diminish the fact that I still adore VAMPS' music and particularly HYDE's lyrics, and that's why I continue to criticize them. If you are trying to learn to draw, would you rather learn to get better or would you rather suffer from mental blocks and directional confusion? A direct example is what I mean is REVOLUTION. Because the fans gave TROUBLE such a positive reception, they greeted us with another song like it. Therefore, they took the criticism and used it to their advantage, and as we all know, REVOLUTION is fucking awesome sausage.

Even FAITH, my favorite album of all time, falls under many criticisms. For one, the brief implementation of religion (as though HYDE just glanced over a section in the Bible) -really- is a bother when you actually KNOW the subject matter he's talking about. Sometimes the English lyrics will make absolutely no sense, as is the case for MADE IN HEAVEN, FAITH, and I CAN FEEL, and the grammar tends to suffer from song to song. I can go on and on about other problems with the album, but that would be beyond the point. What I'm saying is that our criticisms aren't an expression of discontent, but a sign of our love. That alongside the fact that I'd rather engage in a full discussion than have a conversation like this-

"BEAST IS KEWL"
"I AGREE"
"ME TOO I LOVE IT"
"THIS IS COOL"
"YES I AGREE WITH EVERYONE HERE THIS COOL."

It's bland, monotonous, and boring. =|

Now point me to one example of someone acting "high and mighty (color)" about it? Like I said, it's "wrong" because it gives them no direction. I'm not saying it's not wrong to praise the artist even when they do something that's not their best work. What I'm saying is that it's wrong to offer no feedback in return. Like, I will say "BEAST is good, but the lyrics are horrid." That's just a brief example, of course. But what I'm saying is that it shows where they can improve on and thus gives them further direction.

I'm saying it would be wrong for you--the fandome in general not you in particular--to say it's good when you don't really think so. I disagree of course. Maybe their direction is no direction. Who is to say what their direction is and to improve it? xD THAT IS NOT TO SAY they don't want to improve as musicians. I'm sure they do.

xD Right. Which is why I said Beast is the best shit ever. Because I was providing an example in direct contrast to yours ... (taken out of context? I'm still not sure what you mean). It's not perfect, but it's an amazing album. And my feelings are that lately there has been an increase in negative feedback, sometimes very contradictory. Vamps' cover art for one... It's getting annoying when people do nothing but tear them apart while saying they love them.
