RE: VAMPS 2nd Album Available For Pre-Order Now!
Quote:My only problem with the direction VAMPS has gone is the fact that tracks like HUNTING are often treated like full songs. I've said this many times before and I'll say it again: HUNTING is just a modified version of the HELLO live intro, and during lives, it still serves its purpose as an intro track to either HELLO or HIDEAWAY
THANK YOU! I'm glad I'm not crazy to think that. IMHO, I think it's sorta ruined... I LOVE THAT SPECIAL INTRO they would play before HELLO, but they dont do any more 'cause it got turned into a song. HUNTING, to me, it's alright, but definitely does not need any lyrics, even given that it's only a couple words.

Well, I actually like HUNTING very much, even now that it's been turned into a full song. Just like before it was made into a song, it sets the mood for the next song very well, especially HELLO. My only problem is that it still serves as an intro track, but it's regarded as a full song, which essentially means we get one less song during lives. However, it's made up for in the fact that EVANESCENT and SWEET DREAMS get these absolutely beautiful piano live intros.

I agree that Hunting should just be like an interlude even at the Hikki show I went to they had interludes and although it showed at the setlist at the end it said interlude |D or bridge

I haven't purchased enough from CD Japan to make a noticeable difference in price! @_@ - I could probably have tons of CD Japan points if it weren't for the shipping rates...

I always chose the cheapest shipping, even if it means it'll take a week or so longer to get to me. :P I have enough points to cover cheapest shipping of 500yen, so I'm happy with that. ^_^ ...most of those points are ones I got from the 300 pts CDJapan gives you for your birthday. ;A; Lol, I used those B-day points last year for the VAMPS album too. \m/

Somehow even that adds up adds up just a bit too much.
On an unrelated note, I'm going to come clean about the name of the album. :X - It's not bad, but it's not great. Referring back to 666 and FAITH, the names had this mysterious feel to them. With BEAST, it feels... just... I dunno. I just don't feel anything with the name =x - Just my opinion. It doesn't really matter, but I still wish the name could have been something a tad more interesting. Either way, I'm just glad to finally be able to say "the BEAST tour" instead of "the 2009 tour" or "the 2008 tour" as that becomes extremely irritating after awhile =P
Anyway, before I get into that... um... remember to continuously refresh YouTube over and over until the ANGEL TRIP PV (or a radio rip) is leaked like your good pal, VAMPkito! 8D

Perhaps the name of the tour is an added "badness" or "darkness" since the devil himself is often referred to as the Beast. Hyde may be doing a playing around of the words and symbols of western culture once again.

Admittedly, that's what I think, too. It's just that the name "BEAST" has so many different connotations. I mean, maybe if they called it "THE BEAST" it would just be one extra word added, but it'd give off a much different feel. But just "BEAST" feels empty, in my opinion. It's like calling a song "BLOOD" ... liek, what about blood? I mean, blood can have so many different feelings. Blood as in the things that family members share? Blood as in the things that vampires suck? Blood as in the blood shed that brought about American independence? It just doesn't provide any sort of feel. But if you add something like "BLOOD RED" it instantly makes you think of something dark and violent.
Don't get me wrong, FAITH and 666 are both extremely vague names as well, but they have a sense of mystery to them BECAUSE of it.
