RE: Beast Lyrics collection
Ok it was all changes in RUMBLE really...I was trying to get the translation done super fast before I went to work and I ended up making translation choices I didn't really like...I had to take some artistic license again trying to get the intended meaning across....I think it would sound strange in some parts as a literal translation lol Anyway I italicized the changes. I think I'm happy with it now :)

I'm especially disappointed at GET UP's lyrics. They make no sense and don't match the music AT ALL. Not the lyrics from HYDE I fell in love with. See, funny thing. If this were any other Japanese artist, I would forgive the poor English, but because it's HYDE, the lyricist behind FAITH, which is undoubtedly my favorite album EVER. Not just favorite HYDE album, not just favorite J-rock album, favorite album EVER.
Now bearing in mind, the lyrics in FAITH weren't exactly perfect either. There were lots of grammatical errors (even in that instance, though, the English was still better than most native speakers =P) and certainly there were songs like MADE IN HEAVEN and FAITH where the English was poor, but the live experience not only compensated for it, but gave them meaning. The latter of which is just a bunch of jumbled up Engrish that makes no sense when listening to it on CD, but when seeing it live, the meaning comes into play. Those aside, the lyrics were brilliant enough to where you can understand the song and its meaning perfectly, and some songs, like JESUS CHRIST, were amazing BECAUSE of the purity, honesty, and true effort put into them. If JESUS CHRIST was a more complex-sounding song, then I wouldn't love it so much. Its simplistic beauty is what defines it, alongside the emotions that overflow from it.
But THESE lyrics, however, make NO sense. They're mainly random English two-word sentences and the ones that are an actual attempt suffer grammatically. With songs like REVOLUTION, the poor lyrics are forgivable because it's supposed to be fun. But then there's MY FIRST LAST, whose lyrics whilst they do make sense and are very pretty, suffer from dreadfully trying to force words into a specific syllable limit to the point you have to insert words for HYDE. BUT then there's songs like GET UP which have this beautiful feel musically, but the lyrics are completely nonsensical.
It's a shame because the music is pretty solid. No complaints from that whatsoever, but the lyrics are just... random and make little sense.
Thanks for posting anyway, harumi!
Yeah I didn't feel it wasn't Hyde's best either. I can appreciate little bits and pieces here and there, but as far as English lyrical ability I would point out my own personal favorite, Angel's Tale. In comparison to that song which is, in my humble opinion, the most poignantly beautiful song that Hyde has ever written lyrically, these do fall somewhat short...
But it's Hyde and I love him and forgive him :P As long as I still have Roentgen English album I'm good.
And, yes, Faith is wonderful lyrically too *.* I took some time to reacquaint myself with those lyrics recently and I had a special appreciation for Perfect Moment...a song I feel now that I hadn't given due consideration to previously.
WILL SOMEONE PLEASE FIND HYDE'S LAMB FOR HIM ALREADY????? DX
