RE: Sweet Dreams PV Preview
I love this video its so simple and nostalgic its just like a group of friends hanging out and playing music. It doesnt have to be a big budget and fancy video to grab my attention.

No camera on-board sound mic will do justice for any instruments out there. It's all unplugged so no instruments were individually recorded and mixed together. It's almost as if you're watching and listening to a recorded live from an audience who has their camera up. It sounds like crap. I see bands on youtube get rated down because people complain about sound quality and mock their talents when really, it is they(the youtube viewer) that don't understand that the camera can't capture all the sound clearly.
That's no excuse for the CD version to be as subpar as it was. D:<
Like I said earlier, we all have our own opinions and one is not right and one is not wrong.
I see this version this way.....VAMPS was doing something and I (me/you/whoever) walked by the room. I said, "Oh, I just love Sweet Dreams! Would you please play it for me?" They obliged.
To me it is like sitting on the floor and getting a private live. There is no one else there...no cameras, no sound mixers, no managers, just you and the band in a very intimate setting. They are being totally natural and the song is as it is.

thank you cathb and polarwhiteseal, that's exactly what i was thinking and trying to say before i got off-track in an emotional-spasm. sorry about that.

I was talking about the CD version. This version in other words - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U58Th6wAVC0
I love the PV version. But I don't like the CD's recycling of the same vocal tracks as the non-acoustic version, which makes it sound a tad awkward in the softer orchestral version.

I like this version, too. I think it is just because I love this song so much that it doesn't matter to me how it is done. It just always touches my heart.
As for recycling music, I could kick L'arc but will buy ANOTHER copy of Hurry Xmas.

I didn't mean recycling the song in general. I generally don't mind that as long as it's few and far in between. What I meant was that the acoustic version used the same vocal track as the non-acoustic version, so it sounds awkward because they're two different sets of music.
Hurry Xmas is always just a limited time only single, isn't it? What I don't get is why they can't just release a permenent single release already so they wouldn't have to rerelease the single over and over again. I mean, aside from being able to reap in on the holiday profits, it seems like a financial loss on their part since a good amount of people already purchased the single the first two times (but then, the previous two versions didn't have live performances from the THEATER OF KISS concert)

I guess it would be a festive release. Sorta like how McDonald's sell McRibs... bad analogy... lol

===================
the sad part is that it is supposed to be limited release, but most places will leave it up until they sell out, of course, and that may take the whole following year. and iu'm not talking about the regular version, but the 1st press. i didn't have the bucks the 1st time to get the cd/dvd so got the normal version. 9 months later i bought the 1st press. 2 months later, they re-released the 08 version. it is still available. see what i mean?
i can't see buying another for myself. new reindeer ornament and even live footage isn't enough. i can see the live all i want on ToK. it's far from my favorite song, though i enjoy it for about a month each year.

RE: Sweet Dreams PV Preview
You know I wasn't really dissing on the band. I was just saying I disliked it. My opinion and if I feel not so in tune with this version, that's how it is. It doesn't mean I like the band less, just not this particular song. Its not really the "quality" of the sound I disliked it was the sound in general. As I said some instruments were more over powering than others while yeah that's how a jam session sounds sometimes it doesn't mean I'll particularly like it because of it. Sure if I was there with them and it sounded that way fine, that wouldn't bother me in the least bit, its the fact that we're expected to pay money for that. I don't know...it just feels..too forced to me. I mean at least with the last two singles we had songs that were NOT released on the album. And yes this "acoustic" version isn't released on it either, it's still the same song. Maybe I shouldn't write this crap when I'm sick? But anyways I WAS NOT DISSING VAMPS or saying VAMPS is crap or whatever. Just stating my opinion.

same here. i'm always a proponent of free speech and freedom of opinions. how else can a discussion be? anything else is just a rehashing over and over. sometimes one also has to play Devil's Advocate just to get things going or interesting, right? ^_^
