Better than the recorded version. I mean, at least this one can technically be called an "acoustic" version.
Pardon me while I fall in love with this song all over again.
--------------
got my cd/dvd from CDJapan today. this is the 2nd pv on the disc. gorgeous. the cd is the original and the previously leaked "acoustic" with piano, strings etc as discussed elsewhere. the cover's back is an ols car instead of motorcycle for this triplet. inside cover - a series of live close-ups offstage. look forward to seeing where this goes. would show photos, haven't seen scans yet and not up to it. sorry.
it's lovely and worth it for me. for the dvd disc if nothing else. will those show up on a dvd/album set later? precedent says at least one will, but who's to say since the song was part of the 1st album?
Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! Where's mine!!!!! I ordered it when it first came out and I'm closer to Japan than you are!
Not fair!!! Whine, whine, whine
(Kicks cdJapan)
-------------------
sorry hon, i also ordered immediately, before i got the notice it was available. what can i say, i live close to a big hub airport. i almost always get CDJapan and HMV stuff as early as the day before release to the day after. *shrugs* then there's the days it takes freAkin' forEver. ^ ^
Perhaps tomorrow.........sighs.......
I won't be getting mine in a while because:
1. I ordered something else that isn't released yet and it's combined shipping
2. I live in Peru and the package is going to US cause I wouldn't bare loosing it in stupid customs here x_x
3. I will probably wait until December for it since that's when ppl living in the US are visiting~!
I can always look at the photos~ and download the dvd rip~! for now since I already bought it xD.

RE: Sweet Dreams PV Preview
Personally I found the acoustic PV...boring. Musically it wasn't that great either I mean...you can hear everything except the guitar. WTF?! Even if you could hear the guitar it still wouldn't be my favorite. And it appears there is no microphone on Hyde because at times it's hard to hear him as well. I don't know...it just didn't seem that great to me. I like the original better. It has more feeling and emotion to it than the acoustic version does. It is more powerful too, the acoustic version feels not so much. Kazu even looks kinda bored in it like "Eh, not this song again" I mean after playing it a million and one times...it would get old I'd think?!
EDIT: BTW I did show up in the PV for those who are interested.

you know i enjoyed it. BUT, i will admit that the sound isn't good, no mics, the piano and Ari's drumming nearly drown out the rest at times. i can hear the air conditioner or something humming away. the setting is a trifle cheesy, in a cute way mind. yeah, it looks hastily thrown together, probably a last minute decision after an evening eating, drinking and idly chatting about what they could do next. wouldn't surprise me at all.
but, that does not mean i don't like it... and precisely because it looks so amateurish. i love the regular PV, with its drama and nostalgia. but i can love both as totally separate and not taking anything away from each other.
the acoustic version hit a raw nerve with me right now as i'm having some pretty heavy personal issues. it's like getting the guys to sit down and play this just for me so i can clear the air a bit, ok? a completely selfish reason for loving this and i admit that too. lots of issues i'm not coping well with, one can try to be above normal human reactions, but reality has a nasty bite sometimes. every now and then i need something that gives me permission to feel what i try to hide. as cheesy and dumb as it sounds, this time this simple little home-made video works like a pat on the back that says it's ok to let it out. sorry to be so drama queen-ish. this is what i try so hard to prevent. m_ _m
i would have loved seeing one of the USJ acoustic performances, i've heard from those who saw them that they were excellent. and some pretty disparaging comments about this dvd version in comparison too. >.<
ok, enough about me, what i like/dislike etc. didn't mean to steal the thread. thanks for being the kind and caring people you all are.

It's a pretty great performance, I thinkz. But seriously... whoever's in charge of cropping the performances on this show needs to be fired. Seriously. It's so abrupt and obvious.

We all have our likes and dislikes and that is what makes the world go round. I like the accoustic version myself and it is fine with me if others don't. I just wish it would show up at my doorstep! Still whining......where is my copy??? It's already on ebay for God's sake!!!!

RE: Sweet Dreams PV Preview
Acoustic version is well.. acoustic. Very simple. It's raw. No camera on-board sound mic will do justice for any instruments out there. It's all unplugged so no instruments were individually recorded and mixed together. It's almost as if you're watching and listening to a recorded live from an audience who has their camera up. It sounds like crap. I see bands on youtube get rated down because people complain about sound quality and mock their talents when really, it is they(the youtube viewer) that don't understand that the camera can't capture all the sound clearly.

That's no excuse for the CD version to be as subpar as it was. D:<

Like I said earlier, we all have our own opinions and one is not right and one is not wrong.
I see this version this way.....VAMPS was doing something and I (me/you/whoever) walked by the room. I said, "Oh, I just love Sweet Dreams! Would you please play it for me?" They obliged.
To me it is like sitting on the floor and getting a private live. There is no one else there...no cameras, no sound mixers, no managers, just you and the band in a very intimate setting. They are being totally natural and the song is as it is.
