RE: VAMPS At Otakon
On priceline.com you can actually name your own price for plane tickets - they'll chose your flight and time and all that, but you chose your price. Can't say I've ever done that myself, buy 2 of my friends plan to do that for cons later this year in VA and TX. Notttt helpful, but just saying. ^^;

What's funny to me is that by "West Coast" most people mean "Los Angeles" hehehe
The Pacific Northwest is on the west coast too! No one seems to remember us up here ;)

Awww i know how it feels
I'll be in the U.S.A. from July 18 to July 23, so...just Northwest for me
Oregon has: lots of beer and strippers (like a Pastafarian heaven), great restaurants and vineyards (hamburgers and good wine), the hotel from The Shining (REDRUM!). They should do something special there hahahaha.

I know the West Coast fans are kinda jealous about the Otakon meet and greet thing. Sorry :( but it kinda feels good :) Living on the East Coast we always get jipped when it comes to jrock lives/or any exposure jrock related. For the past 3 years... I've been the jealous one... jealous of the West Coast and all of Europe! This is a once in a lifetime event for some of us fans and me saying how awesome it is... is an understatement. I simply can't put into words my excitement. All I know is that I better pack some smelling salts or something just in case.
And unless they make a "special" preregistration time on the 16th(not 7-9pm) for us to pick up special passes for the Otakon panel or do whatever we are to do... none of us will be there. We'll all be in line and then inside Sonar. And I will be there early cuz we want to get a jump on the thankyou card and banner signing by the fans for the concert. But I'm sure it will all work out. I'm just curious as to how?
No you want to know who gets jipped? Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma aka Tornado Alley. No Jrockers come here, once in a while we'll get someone like Motley Crue, Aerosmith but that's usually at Kansas City, which is like a LONG drive. 8-10 hours. East Coast has Otakon and West Coast has AX what does middle America have? Nothing. I wouldn't start saying East Coast never gets anything. Because try living in Kansas, actually in SOUTHWEST Kansas. NOTHING happens here at all. So thus I buy VAMPS tickets and am going to the shows on the West Coast. (Since I've already seen the East Coast.) I've heard Vamps might be doing something in the West Coast as well.
haha yeah my state is so bad 4 it MT with just under a million people 4th largest state.... n yeah 800 mile to anything..... no j-rock has ever n i'm sure will ever come by .... T.T but its only a 14-20 hour drive give a few hours....

I live in Kentucky I'm just hours from Baltimore but the plane ticket to MD is $212 / round trip for me not counting hotels in MD + otakon registration + concert tickets because if im in Baltimore im going to see that live too. This would easily add on an additional $400-$500 for me and there just no way i can afford it not after already paying $500+ for flights to the west coast.
I don't think its as much as people are "jealous" its just when it gets a month before the lives you have to start buying plane tickets etc and i think most people have already made travel arrangements and can't change them to go to Baltimore so they are kinda irritated this announcement came in so late. I do believe the West Coast will get some love though where and when who knows but I'm praying something happens in Vegas.
Yeah I wish they had announced this sooner, not only about a month away. From Vegas, it's about $350-400 for roundtrip tickets + VAMPS concert ticket ($35 day of) + Otakon ($65 preregister) = around $500 total @_@ + taxi fare to & from the airport & to the Otakon place ><
I'm not counting the hotel cuz if I go, I plan on going to the concert, sleep outside somewhere/find a 24-hr fast food place/walk around, go to Otakon the next day & then go home that night.
Now I just need to persuade my parents to let me go..........

Honestly I think it's only called "VAMPS Official Party" not cuz it's a "party" as in a "celebration," but a "party" as in a "group." Like they're a private party who wanted to rent out the place.
Well then shouldn't all them be called "VAMPS Official Party" ??? I know they rented Wasted Space special but it makes no sense for them to call it that. They could have just called it "VAMPS Concert/SHOW/etc" It makes no sense for them to call it "Official Party" if they are meaning the band.

RE: VAMPS At Otakon
I think I read that it's a "private party" because VAMPS wanted it all ages. Wasted Space would not generally be open to minors. So, the name is probably a requirement of the venue to show that it is a "private party" open to all ages. Not everything is legal is Vegas ^-^

RE: VAMPS At Otakon
if we want to talk about neglected areas when it comes to jrock, try the southeast. virginia is maybe not so bad, as it's closer to DC and all. but the carolinas, tennesee AND kentucky Tracy...we're often a no-man's land too.
and i might as well moan one last time, i'll be in baltimore, but can't stay for otakon. my plane tickets are already bought and paid. really feeling the suckage of that. i'm sure i'm not alone in this either. but at least i get to go to the show. *sigh* i'm gonna try to avoid any more thoughts, posts about this as there's no logic in making myself so disappointed before the poor guys ever get here. will just detract from my enjoyment of the actual event. which is the real point anyway.
love you guys.
