My name is Linette, and I will be attending by myself. I'm from NYC (Queens). I've been reading the posts and I'm shocked at how many of you are planning on camping out in front of Irving Plaza. I've never done that, never felt the need to so I'm really curious. Do you think that if I show up early afternoon the day of the show I'll be really far back? I mean, I've been on long lines before but now I'm not sure. I'm nervous hehe.
BTW I was at Irving Plaza this past week for a show and the place is a perfect size so that anyone can enjoy the show (unless you're short). I picked a spot in the second floor and saw everything just fine.
I was wondering how they are with cameras. I saw many cameras at the show I was in, and even some professional looking cameras. Mine is sort of professional so I think I'm going to call the venue and make sure it'll be alright for me to bring it.
I also have a silly question....I'm used to going to metal shows and wear black jeans, boots and tank tops or tshirts. But I think for this show the girls dress up more. What type of clothes are you all going to wear if I may ask?
As for hotels, if anyone is still not booked, I would suggest the hostels. Those tend to be cheaper than hotels and if you bring a group with you the price goes down (it can be $59 a night). The Times Square Comfort Hostel has pretty good reviews. Check this link for a listing of hostels http://www.hostels.com/us.ny.ny.html
There is also the St. Marks Hotel. My friends from Canada always stay there and love it. http://www.stmarkshotel.net/1671525.html
:)
Thanks for the link, I still haven't arranged where I'm staying and lots of those look affordable. It's also nice to hear what Irving Plaza is like.
As for clothes... well, if there's somebody walking around in an ugly clunky orthopaedic boot-brace-thing on one foot and very sensible shoes on the other, it's probably me but my tendonitis should be fixed by then, so perhaps platform-ish heels, cute top, and a skirt or pants (I get cold so easily, it's ridiculous).
Thanks for the link too ^^ im still trying to organise some accomadation for both NY and baltimore. I'll def check them out~
I was thinking of wearing jeans and a singlet or tshirt depending on the weather (anyone know about NY weather??? dry heat, humid? going from winter to summer is gonna be fun LOL)
And another question XD does anyone know if the venue has a bag room (and does it cost to store?) because i was planning to bring my camera to take pics before the show plus other stuff XD
I can tell you right now, NY summer weather is not pleasant (unfortunately). On the first warm day this year I went to Central Park wearing long jeans and a tank top, and I thought I was going to melt. The summer heat here tends to be humid. When it's a pleasant day there will be a nice breeze and it will be bearable. But when it's a more harsh summer day it will be hot and humid. That's why I thought of wearing shorts or a mini skirt (even though I usually don't wear mini skirts lol). So keep that in mind when you decide what to wear. :)

RE: NYC attendees?
Irving Plaza has a bag check, yes, and no it is not free. (Sadly.) I want to say it's like $2/3 for a bag, and if you have a coat too another dollar, but nobody is going to have coats in July, so that's not a probably. XD Assume $3 to check your stuff though. Then you get a ticket and can pick it up after the show.

RE: NYC attendees?
Does it say doors are at 7pm or show starts at 7pm? (My friend ordered NYC tickets for us, so I don't have one in front of me right now which is why I'm asking. |D) ...not that it matters since I'll be there long before anyway BUT it would be good to know. (I just always assume doors are at 7 or 8pm for shows.)

RE: NYC attendees?
Question!
No idea if I missed this (if you talked about it), but what about bags? Last show I was at here there were no rules or bag check.

I think as long as you don't have like, a huge backpack, bags in general are all right to bring in. They probably will check your bag before you go in (that's how it was the last 2 shows I was at there) but I mean, I think bags are okay. I'll probably have a small bag myself just over my shoulder with phone/wallet in it.
