WTF Near The Projector?

I intended to ask this when I got back from Baltimore, but during the concert, my father said there was some kind of aroma or something near the projector that was making him feel ill. So we moved further away near the fan in the venue. So I was wondering if anyone else felt that or have any explanations as to what was going on near the projector that may have caused something like that?

Otakon Q&A

Since Otakon/Sonar show was a sort of joint thingy I'll post this here instead of in General.

First of all, they were late. It said the panel was going to start at 1:30 but it didn't start until about 2.

I was sitting in third row on the edge by the door where they came in. After we got in there/were getting settled they popped in the VAMPS TOUR 2008 dvd and played a song or two.

After the panel started Ai worked as translator. They answered questions that were submitted to Otakon website plus 4-5 questions from fans in the audience.

When they were answering questions submitted to Otakon website Ai would call out the submitters name so they could stand up and say where they were from. A few times after Ai would call someone HYDE would try saying their name also. It was cute.

The panel was pretty short but I still don't remember all the questions. Here's what I remember sort of: (not direct quote, just a rough recap - not in order)

Something about if they could have any super power what wouuld it be and why:
HYDE: Said he would want the ability to fly. Not high but low because it would be a nice feeling. While he was answer he kept flying his hand around like he was demonstrating.
K.A.Z: Said he wanted invisiblity so he could go in the girls bathroom.

If you could meet anyone dead or alive then who would it be:
HYDE: Jesus Christ
K.A.Z: He wanted to think about it. Said he would let us know when he figured it out (he never told us)

What singer do you like (not counting HYDE):
HYDE: Jim(or Van?) Morrison (I don't remember exactly). It looked like HYDE couldn't think of his name so he was pulling is hair out like he was trying to describe what the guy looked like.
K.A.Z: Sting

Would they consider every going on tour with someone else like Gackt (everyone started cheering; HYDE looked surprised but laughed) and if so who?

It took them awhile to answer so I think HYDE just threw out the name XD

Did you get a chance to eat American food and if so whats your favorite, something like that.
HYDE laughed and said....crabs! The place exploded in cheers. Then I think he also said "I ate too/two" and laughed some more

Have you ever been to Chicago and would you consider doing a concert there:
HYDE: No (everyone 'awwwed' but he meant he had never been there)
Then he said he would like to go to Chicago

Something about has anything in America inspired you:
HYDE: Americans being open and expressive makes him feel he can be more open and expressive. People in Japan are very reserved but here you can be more open. He also said he almost wishes they didn't have to leave (not sure about this one. He either said it here or at the end)
K.A.Z: I don't remember exactly but he said something about how he feels more friendly.

By the end of it HYDE was eating cake. I think K.A.Z said something about us wondering if his cake was good. HYDE smiled then held up the fork like he was going to offer it to us...then shoved it in his mouth. His expression was like "ha! Take that!"

And that's all I remember. People who got questions answered got a free gift. The panel seemed pretty short but fun. There was a lot of laughing. No pictures/video allowed.

If there is someone who wants an autographed item, but can't make it to the 2pm meet and greet & autograph session, I can get something signed (I'll assume they'll sell cds on site so I will pick up something), but you will need to send me a copy of the printout ticket.

Just so you know that's I won't go into the concert with your ticket, I will gladly give it & the signed cd to you before you enter the concert. Then I won't be able to get in b/c the barcode will have been scanned after you enter. See, can't scam you out of the ticket and you will get an autograph by doing me this favor.

One Extra Ticket

I bought an extra ticket to the show because I thought that some fan will be left out of the madness and become very sad for it to happen. I would feel bad if anyone got left out you know? It's very awesome that VAMPS could come to America~

Anyway, I heard that Sonar was a possible sold out show... regardless, I have one extra ticket for sale. ^_^ I'm selling it for $30 (less than what I got it!) and if you would like it... either pm me or (I prefer this second one) e-mail me at hydebelle.loves.vamps@live.com. Just like the other venues have done, I am starting this thread for VAMPS fans safety and enjoyment at the Sonar show. By now you may have heard about the New York City concert mayhem. Not only pushing and shoving, but literally gouging, hair pulling, pinching, kicking, and foot smashing stuff going on.

For what ever excuses fans come up with as to why this happened in NYC, it's not warrented! Nor will it be tolerated in Baltimore! Telling you this only makes a small difference, because I believe nobody on this forum would participate in such madness nor approve of it. There will be hundreds attending who will not read this, so our small group must do what we can to spread the word!!!!!!!!!

I'm hoping that the meet and greet / autograph session will satisfy the fans needs to be close to the guys, and help to calm people afterwards a bit. But can't guarentee that!

Unfortunately there is no balcolny in Sonar. Correct me if I'm wrong, please! But watching Sonar youtube vids, I couldn't see any. It appears to be just one big "pitt". We don't want a repeat of NYC, especially with no other choices at hand than to be on the main floor.

Please...everyone...while in line...please spread the word!
No matter what corner of the world you hail from, lets represent Baltimore, "The City of Charm", in a respectful way.

Hi, my name is Danica, I also go by "D", or "jrock" or at my workplace they call me "rockstar" : just cuz my hair is black & my hairstyle changes monthly/daily, I sing aaallll day at work (even in Japanese) with my headphones on lol, love going to karaoke, and I own 5 guitars and a set of drums~can't play, but try really hard!

I will be attending with my crew (my husband and two teenage daughters.) We will be driving down from Pittsburgh, PA.
Both my daughters are fans, my husband~not so much~hehe
Heaven help them for all I am putting them through on this venture.
Can't wait to meet everyone there! I will be wearing my street team shirt, probably a crazy zebra striped hat from Kennywood(can't miss), & jean shorts. But I will have the box of glowsticks... so u'll see me.

Here's some information regarding the Baltimore autograph session:

Thursday, July 16th
Venue : SONAR Baltimore
Location :407 E Saratoga St Baltimore MND 21202
Time : 2:00pm - 3:00pm (EST)

*NO PHOTOGRAPHY!

The autograph/meet 'n greet session is on a "first come, first serve" basis. As far as I am concerned, at this time, there will be no "separate line" for the meet 'n greet. Which is to say that if you're in line early for the concert, you'll get to meet the band. I'm not sure at this time of any more specific details such as how many people will be able to meet the band. They will try to fit in as many people as possible for the autograph session. The session will only be an hour long, so however many people they can get in within that time frame will be able to get an autograph. Make sense? I hope so...Good luck and have fun to those who will attend the show/autograph session!!

*RULES:
1. NO PHOTOGRAPHY! It sucks, but they want to keep the line moving as quickly as possible, so as to give as many people as possible the opportunity to meet VAMPS.

2. ONLY fans who have purchased tickets to the Baltimore concert can attend. That's to say, only those with proof of purchased physical tickets (i.e. receipts or the ticket itself), print-outs, or print-outs that have the LIVENATION barcode on them can attend the event.

3. Contest winners, those who are on a "guest list," "VIP list," or were given press invites CAN NOT attend the autograph session. Contest winners of any kind, unfortunately, are unable to attend the autograph session.

4. ONLY VAMPS merchandise can be autographed. Goods such as: VAMPS CD's, Monthly VAMPS magazines, VAMPS Live 2008 DVD, VAMPS t-shirts, VAMPS bags, etc...Any HYDE/HYDEIST/non-VAMPS merchandise WILL NOT be autographed. Also, if you currently do not own any VAMPS merchandise, they will be selling VAMPS merch while you are in line.

5. This rule isn't listed on VAMPS' official MySpace blog, but I thought that this might be good to mention anyway. Please be courteous to your fellow fans! Remember, an hour can go by very, very quickly. Please keep your comments to VAMPS short, so as to give other people the opportunity to meet them. Don't take away someone else's chance of meeting VAMPS simply because you decided to tell VAMPS your life's story. I mean, we are all excited about this opportunity and it truly is a once-in-a-lifetime deal, but please refrain from chattering away and holding up the line. It's not cool. Also, please be respectful to VAMPS themselves. I don't think they'd appreciate if you started asking them very personal questions or making comments about their personal lives. I know this stuff is common sense, but I thought I'd post this anyway.

Safety

I'm sorry for making a new thread about this, and if Tokio wants to delete it, I'll understand.

Since no one really answered my concern about safety in the area of Sonar and BCC, I thought this thread could serve as a 'place' for making groups who are staying in the same hotels and such.

I read some posts at the Otakon forums about groups of teens(?) beating up random people at almost any time of day near the Inner Harbor and Mt. Vernon(?). They apparently don't even take money or whatever..just go up to people and beat them I'm not sure if this problem has gotten better or worse since the articles via Baltimore Sun were written last month.. Now I'm sure there are people who actually live in MD who probably know more about this, or people who've attended Otakon numerous times, but..after reading the articles, I'm officially freaking out Apparently there are even groups of teen girls who do it too..so anyone can be targeted easily by these kids

Obviously the best thing to do is to travel in groups and not take shady roads and such, but for someone like me (going to Sonar alone), it's kind of hard to do If no one else is staying at the same hotel as me (Days Inn), then the only option I have is to take a taxi to and back. Of course, even if you aren't, I'd be more than happy to share a ride with anyone that needs it. Because I was looking at google maps trying to find a decent walking route to Sonar, and there was one path that goes through strip clubs (Hustlers & a Club Pussycat?). The articles also said that these gangs or whatever hang around there, so..yeah, that really drove the nail into my paranoia

I'm so sorry for rambling on this long, but think it'd be neat if we could make groups or something. But again, if I'm just making a huge deal out of nothing, please delete. Thank you.

Sorry I've been absent... I've almost completed the thankyou card... it's more like a thankyou album. And it's no major costs to me...I'm using a mini three ring binder. That has a slot for the cover page. Inside I have 50 sheets of paper that are half blank for fan thankyou's and signings at the show, with a vamptastic image/words on each page. That's all done... I'm now working on the proper thankyou words for the first page. I will post it when it's finished. Haidoist(aki) finished the banner. I am ordering very soon! It costs $40. And we could cover that.
Haidoist and I will be going down the line at the show getting fan signatures on both items! So we'll see you all there!

But we just realized others are getting donations for glow sticks.
We should have some too! Haidoist(Aki) and I were thinking about red! Blood Red! *lol*
We can decide later which song we will "bring them out" for all together, so it'll have a cool effect!
They are about 45 cents each for normal 6" in bulk.. no S&H! But if i purchase the "slim" 6" or the 4" they get cheaper.

EVENT WED NIGHT featuring Vamps tour, for charity

So, I guess as said, I will try and schedule an event the Thursday between the two VAMPS shows in Baltimore. I'm trying to find a place that will donate their space for free, if anyone has any suggestions since we are a charity - we're not rich.

Hopefully we'll have flyer's everywhere. At the Columbia show, the Hilton, every where....

I want to have some sort of project at the event to make into a gift that we can give to VAMPS the next day at the autograph session from Firefly and those that attended.

Let me know if there is anything in particular you would like to see/have happen.

Besides, like, VAMPS, attending. hah

Hey!! Going to Otakon? VAMPS will have a special virtual Q&A session at Otakon!! The band will select questions to answer from fans who are Otakon members and have pre-registered before June 15th! VAMPS will answer the questions on Friday during Otakon via live video, as the tour schedule won't allow VAMPS to appear in person. In addition, Otakon is giving away 5 pairs of tickets to VAMPS' show at Sonar! Also, I know that there is a flyer for the show on Sonar's site and I have that posted to my MySpace and I can print those out but are there any official flyers that can or will be mailed out from the street teams?

Anyone planning any fan activities for standing in line for this show? We're going to be out there for hours, might as well have something to do.

Okay I feel so awful doing this...

I ran into a big problem and I am unable to go to the Sonar show, instead I had to switch venues to the Seattle one, but now since I agreed to pay for my friends tickets...I have just spent $240 something...basically for me to go see one show. So if anyone is interested, seriously, please message me or email me at roentgen483@yahoo.com...I have 3 tickets available and will mail them right away...willing to just sell for the even $30 and not even the extra convenience fees, just so that I don't have to pay for 3 tickets to a show I won't even get to see...

I have 3 people with me: 2 girls (age 18 and 17), 1 boy (age 18, my boyfriend--don't worry about him)
Room reserved for: July 16 - July 19. (We're all going for both VAMPS and Otakon so that's three nights).
Approximate total: $750
Estimated price (split between 6 people): $125 total
Note: None of us are those evil bitchy people you get stuck in a room with <3 and we're mostly Jrock fans + anime fans as well (just not over-excessively if you know what I mean x__x). I also have a dollfie (of my own character) so if you hate them or fear them then I'm sorry. =(
Other note: We can share the bathroom well I promise!! Also, the hotel thinks there will be 4 people in the room, so we got to sneak around and pack away some of our stuff in the morning before we leave. Usually we just throw suitcases under the bed--you know the drill.
