Maybe if we passed the flyers out months before the concerts, we could get the word out sooner. I know there weren't any concerts in the far south, but I know everywhere we went to hand out the US tour flyers, people knew either Kaz, Hyde, Vamps, or at least L'arc or Oblivion Dust. That's the only thing I can add...sorry. :/

I think the leaders (at least in Vegas) did a good job with what they had to contend with. The Hard Rock venue had no real barriers between the band and the crowd, so I think, if something like that occurs again, maybe the leaders could talk with the staff and get some sort of barrier to help the band out and keep a bit of crowd control. I forgot who I was talking to...but one girl at the concert was really nice. I think her name was Brittany? She put numbers on everyone's hands and that had a possibility of working. Maybe, instead of relying on numbers or "I was here first" policies, we stick to the number that is on the tickets, should Vamps come back. That way, the leaders could easily go in and out of line and help keep everyone in check. It isn't really their responsibility, I know, but someone needs to do it.

Jeez...I had to work the day after I got back from the concert and I am still on cloud 9. XDDD It was so awesome, it's hard to come back to "real" life now...*sigh* I really really really hope they come back again because that concert was EPIC. Definately. lol XD

Edit: Okay, I had another idea as soon as I hit the reply button. XD; I was reading VAMPkito's reply and realized something...I live in Georgia which, I'm sure, is far more close-minded than any other "southern" state I know (besides maybe Texas...), yet every year, we have a huge turn out for Anime Weekend Atlanta and Dragoncon. I can't speak for Dragoncon, but I know I'm asking off work for Anime Weekend Atlanta. What if we made something to hand out at the conventions to help spread the word to people that haven't kept up with the times, aka. don't know diddly about Vamps. ^^; I was actually one of those people until a friend told me about Hyde's new solo project (Since I had a small crush on Hyde in high school...*cough*). I'm sure at least a few of us on here are going to cons and things...And I don't mind handing out left-over flyers or promotions for their newest album, if we could print some out. People just need to have a reason to look up Vamps on youtube or myspace. ^_^

..............

We have more time to start promoting. A bumpersticker with I'm a VAMPADDICT and the website link would be easy for starters. Bookmarks with a vampire theme and the link could be left lying around. Vampires are hot items right now so their name fits right in with the craze. Hopefully we can capitalize on that fact.

The Wonder Girls (Korean, I know...not Japanese) who are the opening band for the current Jonas Brothers tour may help people realize that other cultures have music that Americans can listen to, also.

First, WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT?! DDDDD: How did I miss it? I wish I would've known the air date...T_T

And about the bumperstickers/bookmarks...^_^ I work in a bookstore. It would just be my pleasure to accidentally slip bookmarks in all the bags, put up a few in the music department, ect. That, and I can leave a bunch at the college library and lunchroom. Most of the time, promotions for things are all over my college and they never get thrown away.

And I totally didn't know Wonger Girls were opening for Jonas.........That is just this side of awesome. XD See, I always thought they had an American sound to their music...

The thing is, I don't think it's just the exposure, it's the fact that "Love Addict" is...well, written in English. It's a great song and people here can understand the words without having to research or learn a new language...Not to step on people's toes, but typical Americans (especially down here) don't want to use their brains much when it comes to music. If they can understand it and it sounds good, they like it. Sometimes the only reason they like it is because it sounds good (when the actual song could be about anything from gang rape to waking up -broke- in vegas.) If we want to appeal to the typical American music lover or rock lover, "Love Addict" is the best song for that.

I think the idea of promotional materials at other events is a good idea.

There were a couple of professional-looking postcard thingys that went around at the LA shows. Most ended up on the ground or in the trash but some people held onto them. I at least read it before I decided I was not interested in it.

People who go to other concerts could hand out materials with an "I recommend this group" comment. I think any kind of a con event is a good idea, too.

I'm almost done with my Masters program (thank God) and I always mention jrock in my introductions. Fellow students have told me that they had never heard of it before. For a Web2.0 class that I took last summer we had to design a 9+ page website. I designed mine around L'arc~en~Ciel. So 24 other people had to learn about them whether they wanted to or not.....bwaaaahhaaaaa Icon_blaugh
