Yeah...they also had an opening band in the hope that they'd get more tickets sold. I still don't think the Wiltern ever sold out, either. I'm actually curious to know as to how close they were to meeting their goals in terms of ticket sales...

What I could see of the floor looked pretty packed. However the balcony areas weren't even half full.

Not even half full?! That really sucks!!!!! I'm also curious as to how they did in terms of ticket sales

Um, no. There was no opening band on any other tour date (IIRC), and this was the only show with a camera crew, as opposed to a single cameraman.

Through most of the Sonar show, he was filming their backs. There's no way they're putting a whole song of that on a DVD. There are going to be little bits here and there from the other shows, but the main feature will be the final show.

When I looked at the balcony it looked pretty full to me. I was right in front row so I had a good view of it. I dunno.

I am sorry to hear about you H.P I saw you behind me and also wondered what had happened. Something like that happened at baltimore although I was able to squish up front when I got there there were like 15 VIPS already in.. So I know about camping out since dawn and not being where I belong ¬¬. And yes the sound was a bit weird and muffled? but I think that mid show it got better. I still think the show was too short in comparison with other shows. I mean just 2 encore songs and everything went by SO fast.

I wonder if they'll still do the hawaii show.. I wonder. They seemed so tired.

I was fourth row center in the balcony. The rows in front of me were virtually empty. People tried to move up from the back but security made them move back again. There were two girls who stood at the edge and danced the whole time but they weren't in anyone's way because of all of the space.
It is strange about so much empty space as I bought the tickets the first day they went on sale and these were the "best" open seats. Who knows what happened to the people who were supposed to be in front of me....

Honestly I think the sound quality was because it was being filmed for the DVD. It wasn't as loud as the San Fran show that's for sure! The San Fran show about ruptured my ear drums LOLOL. Then again I was right next to Kaz's amp so that could be why. I was in front of Kaz for every show actually until Vegas when I was pushed down and ended up in third row. I think they'll still do the Hawaii show, its already been booked and made public so...they kind of have to...I guess they COULD cancel but I doubt they will.

I think you're right. I thought about mentioning it. They probably did run the volume a little lower for the DVD recording, because they wouldn't want the guitars/ bass/drums to be so loud that they "bleed" into the vocal mic or drum mics. This would make it harder to mix. They want a nice clean sound for each of the instruments (and especially Hyde's voice), with no other instruments in the background.

Hmm then I don't know then. Back in 2006, there was a band that open up for all of the US concerts.

----------------

If that were the case, then, HYDE's mic should've been louder, not softer. The volume at a concert is not lower simply because they're filming it for DVD. The sound at the Wiltern was ridiculously low. The guitars also sounded muffled, but you could still hear them over HYDE. The sound wasn't clear either. Something went wrong, and I think that's why one of the tech people went up on stage almost during the middle of a performance. I don't remember during which song that happened, but someone approached HYDE and the two turned around for a sec. HYDE was also pretty pissed when he left the venue that night. Of course, it could've been a combination of exhaustion and from what I hear, his mic stand kept falling down, but I think the horrible sound also had a contribution. With the sound volume being so low like that, they're going to have a hell of a time adjusting it for the DVD.
