Heart  MSG@NY: That was fucking amazing.
So, despite not selling out completely, it was pretty fucking close.

Who else went to the show? What'd you think of it? I enjoyed it with my dad, and he actually seemed to be enjoying I more than I was. He was falling in love with Ken's amazing solos. The intro was amazing as well, very cinematic. (Won't spoil it for London. Moo ha ha!) Here's the setlist!
Ibara no Namida
Chase [in English]
Good Luck My Way
Honey
Drink It Down
Revelation
Jojoushi
X X X [in English]
Fate
Forbidden Lover
My Heart Draws a Dream
Caress of Venus
Driver's High
Stay Away
Ready Steady Go

(ridiculously anticipated encore.)

Anata [in Romaji (LOLOLOL GETITGETITGETIT?) ]
Winter Fall
Blurry Eyes
Niji

Ken's MC fucking KILLED me. I recorded it, I'll upload it and link it here later. He bought Yuki-kins a "Monoporry" board. Wahaha! Then Caress of Venus made me feel like I was tripping on some sort of substance because of all the stage lights and rainbows. (How unxpecting of a band named "The Rainbow" in French.)

Dad was HYPNOTIZED, i emphasize hypnotized, when they played "Forbidden Lover". I turned to look at him, and he was just gazing at everything and nodding. He really loved that song so much. It was the first time he had heard it, and he was just baffled by it. I don't blame him. It's my favorite song because of the percussion in the song. Ugh.

I pretty much made my dad go deaf in one ear from belting out "HONEY" and "READY STEADY GO!" whenever that shit (awesome shit) came on. People did the wave while the encore started. It was cute. Anyone who wasn't standing, was still enjoying the music altogether.

The merch sold out like fucking hotcakes, you guys. We went in there like "HI, TOTES M'GOATS? :D <3" and this guy was like "Sorry, peaches. We ain't got no more of that. You wanna buy a shirt? Great! Here ya go, boo." So I got a black shirt. Very, very cute once I tried it on. I got stickers for my laptop. (GANGSTAAA.) By the end of the show, I went over to the merch table and asked "Are there any totes still in stock?" and the lady awkwardly looked around and said "This one on the wall is the last one... You want it?"

No, please put it back on the wall for someone else to take it.
(Sarcasm, just incase it doesn't transfer well through forums.)

I got some really dirty looks for snatching the last one. Oopthh.

What about you guys? What happened on your side?

Share, ma little G's.

RE: MSG@NY: That was fucking amazing.
This is my reaction upon seeing some of the fan-camera videos on YouTube and the reality that I wasn't able to attend fully setting in.

I mean, it's not that I was expecting it to be BAD, but I wasn't expecting it to be THAT amazing.

It was truly amazing!!! After waiting 11 long years.....the dream came true.

They had made the recording several times that no recording was allowed. However, people were recording all over the place. And photographing. The fellow 6 seats down from us had a 6" lens on his camera trained on hyde and no one said a word to him. Wish we had taken in a camera.

The effects were breathtaking. All of the colors and motions. Sometimes I got lost in them and forgot the watch the show! They had the fire jets going a couple of times and I'm sure that hyde was toasting his marshmallows. You could feel the heat in the audience and we weren't that close to the stage.

Yeah, the merchandising sold out really quick for some of the stuff. I had to hit 3 spots to get what I wanted and still didn't get the premium package. It went like lightning. Sigh.......

I was pleased with the set list. I had emailed requested 10 songs and they played 7 of them. Not a bad average.

Cried through a few of the songs. Jumped my heart out. Wore out my right shoulder with the glow sticks on Anata.

All in all a very fine experience. I envy anyone going to London, Paris, Hawaii or any other venue.

I cannot wait to purchase this DVD. Need to start saving now.

It's Wednesday and I still feel the emotions of that Sunday.

And I still seeing this as something that I dreamed about, I've seen lots of L'Arc DVD's and live presentations on youtube, but nothing compares to see it for yourself. The atmosphere, the feeling, the setlist...everything seemed to flow with the historical event that happened that night.
Ken made me the night, and mostly when I ADORE that "neko"-guitarist. And it almost made me cry when HYDE said "It took us 20 years to be here...." it seems that it meant A LOT for him...another reason to be proud to be there that night.

And after all the confusion, stress and lack of organization at the beginning of the promotion of the show, I'm glad that everything went fine.

I was there with my friends since 1PM and were one of the firsts to get into the merchandise line and get our stuff [literally people started to form a line behind us, so yeah...]

And yes, I got a lot of stuff:
-a light stick
-pamphlet
-premium package
-eco-bag
-towel [yes...I got it]
-wristband
-sticker
-poster
Yeah, plenty of $$ there...went crazy seeing the stuff. XD

I feel the same way. I start listening to some of the music and the tears come.

Glad you got the merch you wanted. I missed out on the premium package but got everything else on my list.

I went ahead and bought the World CD only to discover today that it is the Korean version....lol. So I need to re-buy it to match the rest of my Japanese version collection.

They had them for sale. Just a cardboard cover on it.....no jewel case. They also had copies of Butterfly for sale. Since the one European site has them for sale, I am hoping that cdJapan will eventually get them. Or artist deli.

Wish I had known you wanted a pamphlet. I would have been glad to get one for you.

RE: MSG@NY: That was fucking amazing.
I absolutely agree. Same exact thing here. I felt pretty calm and content most of the time, but the look of satisfaction that Hyde had when he said "It took us twenty years to get here...", UGH. Forget about it. I immediately burst into full out tears and started clapping.

The anticipation of the concert itself, it's almost like the fans share it with the band, then once it's over, there's a feeling of "Wow, that was amazing" and "Well... it's over now." and you get a little upset too. That's a true fan to me. Someone who embraces the emotions, and carries it on for the band, and shows other fans what the mood of the fanbase is like.

Condolences always carry on, like when their old friend passed away from a motorcycle accident. The anger from the casting thing for the front row carried on, the happiness for the whole tour carried on, etc.

My mother was making fun of the fact that started listening to them, not understanding a single word, even though I began to learn Japanese. She said there's no point in me getting emotional over music I don't understand, but it surpasses any language barrier. "Umibe" for example, the emotion in that song is nothing but longing, missing someone, that and "PIANO DUET" which I've mentioned in another post. And once you read the actual lyrics, it's far from orthodox. It's like there's a simile for everything, a vivid description for everything.

This gig was Laruku's big one, and they damn fucking DESERVED it.
Imagine doing what you love every day, and not giving up on it, and finally, after TWENTY YEARS, getting somewhere you always imagined and dreamed of. This band is a huge chunk of their adulthood, and it HAS to be emotional for them. And as a fan for almost seven years, I only feel the same. I'm so fucking proud of these boys, and it inspires me to be as motivated for my goals in life.
