Official US Street Team
It appears that there is now an official street team, put together by the tour management company.

http://www.facebook.com/pages/LArcenCiel...3031803368

I tried to offer hooking up with them to work together but it was a no go.

Made sense to me though. They want to help sell out the show. I want to help those fans make travel arrangements and ask questions.

But it didn't look like my offer was going anywhere, sadly.

If you want to do any street support then they are the people to talk to.

RE: Official US Street Team
Who's the tour management company? And who are the appointed official U.S. Street Team?

Are the street team other fans, or paid employees of the management company?

I'm sort of thinking the street team must be other fans - or maybe a fan! - who don't want to share official status.

I can't think of a reason professional promoters would not take advantage of this free resource, working in cooperation with a site especially created for international L'Arc fans who are motivated enough to plan long distance trips to see them, share current news about them, and who have a history of readily volunteering to do promotion.

I am the Desire...
The need for fresh .blOod VAMPS is strong in me.

RE: Official US Street Team
The two people who run the street team are Angel Brazier and Melissa Castor (I believe Melissa is registered here, but hasn't been around).

They are both fans of the band, however I'm pretty sure at least Angel works in the music industry. The company she's listed with is a US company that works with Japanese bands so she has some experience with them. She also lists herself a booking agent, artist handler and so on.

I am not sure who the management company is, however she said they were hired by the tour manger. So it sounds like they are officially employed by the tour manager to run the page.

From what I understand they're doing promotions to get the show sold out. The FB page mentions that they'll receive physical promotion materials for people to use.

As for them not working with us.. I dunno. She [Angel] didn't actually say 'no' but when I got a PM explanation she didn't mention my comment at all. She just explained who they were and that she is a professional.

She said they won't be doing any fan stuff like banners, that stuff is left to the fangirls. And bands shouldn't work with fangirls. They are only doing normal professional promotion to get tickets sold.

I was hoping we could work together. Back in VAMPS days I had people contacting me to get me to help promote on the forum. The first tour I was even offered free concert tickets, which I gave away in a raffle.

This entire forum was created to help people going to concerts. I want it to be more active and helpful for people who have travel questions and so on.

It says in their latest FB post that they are not affiliated with any other fanpage or group. Maybe they don't want to work with others because they think it will make them look fangirly or unprofessional.

Haha, yeah, he used this forum as a platform for fans to get support. Was nice enough to post about it on their official myspace for us. He even has an account here (that he doesn't use XD).

It's funny that these people are trying to be so "professional" when the L'Arc~en~Ciel "Official" Street Team page is full of grammatical errors. Initially when they started the page, L'Arc~en~Ciel's name wasn't even written correctly. That really pisses me off. I mean, if you're going to claim to represent this awesome band and present yourselves as official members of an organization that represents the United States, would it kill you to hit spell check? I mean, c'mon. It's ridiculous. I also really like how they make it a point to represent the east coast. I have no problems with the east coast or anything like that, but L'Arc did say that there is still more info to come, presumably more tour dates to be added. And if that's the case, why not keep that in mind? Instead, they post as if it is FOR SURE that L'Arc is going to New York and ONLY New York. What the hell are these people going to do if L'Arc decides to add a date on the west coast? Say, "Oh btw, those living on the west coast can help out now!" Way to alienate fans, guys. The goal of a street team should be to get ALL fans residing in the U.S. to work TOGETHER, not by region. Even though the focus, for the time being anyway, should be New York, they should still make all fans feel included because I don't know if anyone has noticed, but the internet is a powerful tool. And you don't need to live in New York to use it.

F.Y.I: J doesn't work for L'Arc~en~Ciel. L'Arc has an entirely separate management company than that of VAMPS.

Yup, I know. I've got to say I miss him, it was nice having someone to talk to fans and answer questions. If he (or someone similar) were working with L'Arc then we could just mail him to ask about the street team. Doesn't look like L'Arc is going to go with the same personable, approachable tactic though.

----------

I'm curious how this street team is going to work out. They don't have many followers at the moment and I'm not sure if they're reaching out to other fan groups to promote themselves. The only reason I found them was because several people on my FB page liked them.

Of course, I'm more than willing to help support L'Arc so whatever they do I hope it works well.

RE: Official US Street Team
So... if they don't want any sort of cooperation with fans, then... that just goes entirely against the purpose of a street team in general. Forgive my harsh nature, but what they're trying to do is perhaps the worst, and ironically least-professional method of promoting a tour. But I'll digress because I probably don't know what I'm talking about and have probably misread multiple things here and there. Just seems to me that when you say things like "that should be left to the fangirls" it has a sort of "We're working with a rich and famous Japanese band and don't need the support of the fans... however, we're asking kindly for it!" feel to it.

I understand that L'Arc is a different band than VAMPS, but despite some of the imperfections during both their 2009 and 2010 tours, what really made the shows a success, even if the tickets may or may not have sold out, was the connection between the official staff and the fans. It was a two-way street, I guess you could say. They promise to perform in our country as long as we help make their shows a success, as opposed to the feel I'm currently getting which is, they alone make the show a success but just in case here's a FaceBook page that might gather a little extra attention.

But again, perhaps I'm missing the point here. So yeah... sorry for any misunderstanding.

Hmm, well I don't think they don't want ANY fan help. On the FB page they said they would be getting physical promotion materials and I think they do want fans to help promote online and off.

As for the 'for fangirls' comment, I'm not entirely sure where that was going.

I DID ask if they were going to do banners to sign and other fan activities like heather did the first VAMPS tour. The only reason I asked that is because I think Missy is the one who did the fanbook and if she's a street teamer now then maybe she'd be doing it again.

However, she said they won't be doing that because those type of activities are left to fangirls. Their goal is to get the concert sold out and nothing more. Once that is done their job is done.

All that fan stuff really isn't for the promotion of the band, but rather entertainment for the fans. It gives fans something to do while in line and a way to express their love.

So I do understand why they wouldn't do it. They are just there to promote the concert, and all that stuff isn't promotion. All that other stuff is for fans to do on their own. So I guess they're just going to be strictly promotional.

I'll admit I was a little thrown off by what she said though. But only because I asked a simple question and got a long reply about fangirls. I mean, I agree with some of the stuff she said it just seemed semi-out of place to my question. Overall just the tone of the reply put me off. I wasn't sure if some of what she said was just her speaking her opinion or if it was a slight jab at me. She may not have intended it though. No body language or tone of voice through text.

I'm sure they will be working with fans. But I guess they'll do it on their own page, rather than working through multiple sources (like this forum).

But I was hoping we could support each other. Like I said, she didn't actually reject me.

On the FB wall I posted "Who runs this? Is this REALLY official? If so, we should hook up. We supported VAMPS' tours before, and now we're supporting L'Arc.[link]"

She PMed me to answer the first part of the question but never said anything about us hooking up [to support each other]. So she didn't reject me she just.. didn't comment on that part. So I guess that is a rejection.

Mind you, I could have been better with my wording. But I don't feel like trying again now.
