They are too focused on L'Arc~en~Ciel. I personally think it's great that each of the members are doing solo because it allows them to experiment and bring it back to L'Arc~en~Ciel. That's the reason why that makes the band so great, because each member has a different style to contribute and the rest could adapt easily whether or not it's their favorite style.
hyde is rock. tetsu is pop. yukihiro is... metal/industrial?. ken is.... don't know. lol. And to be honest... I only find hyde and testu's solo work much more appealing. That's just my opinion, I'm sure others like yuki and ken's solos.
To be EVEN MORE honest. I like HYDE more than VAMPS. And I'm a bit sad that VAMPS has taken over, even though it has the same members (hyde x k.a.z). The only reason why I'm listening to VAMPS it's cause it's hyde! Biased to give a chance. Don't get me wrong. I like VAMPS music. EVANESCENT is absolutely beautiful. Almost SEASON'S CALL-ish. But HYDE will remain above VAMPS for me.
To be even even MORE honest. I really like the VAMPS album. I was afraid it was going to disappoint, but nope, VAMPS delivered. Their songs just gives you so much energy. It's loud(good kind of loud), catchy, and rock. I can't wait for their arrival.
--------------------
I'm curious to know as to why you prefer HYDE over VAMPS? No, I'm not saying it's a bad thing - everyone's entitled to their own opinion. It's just out of curiosity. I can see why: HYDE's "ROENTGEN," "666," and "FAITH" albums are nothing short of amazing and they're so different from one another. VAMPS' works, on the other hand, sound too different to be compared to any of HYDE's previous solo work. So, do you mean that you just prefer HYDE's sound better from his previous solo days?

RE: I'm sad
In my opinion Hyde previous solo work was more angsty, like previous L'arc~en~Ciel songs. I kinda miss that sound. I too love Vamps but if I had the chance I would love to listen to those kind of songs live. I guess I'll wait to 20th anniversary yay~! I feel like lately he's forcing his voice too much I love evanescent cause it sounds more like his voice not the smoker voice!

I respect that he changed the name to give credits to K.A.Z. But I felt that it was unnecessary. HYDE is a great name. But that's just me lol.
Mmm, I guess you could say that. Different Different Different. I just feel that hyde put in more effort in HYDE than in VAMPS. At first, I didn't see which direction VAMPS was going for when LOVE ADDICT was released. Then I GOT A KICK START NOW made it clear which direction they were aiming. Just songs filled with energy. I think HYDE had songs with deeper meaning in terms of lyrics and melody. Then again, I'm no music genius. =)

You like what you like and what takes hold of you. I feel exactly the same way you do...since we're being honest. :) I love L'arc and got into Hyde's solo stuff because it was Hyde. The same for VAMPS....it's Hyde's voice. That is what grabs me....that is what I want to listen to. His voice is so amazing and it can take you to so many levels of emotion. More than once I've burst into tears just listening to him sing. Perhaps silly, I know. But at the same time I appreciate K.A.Z's musical ability and the others. I am just thankful that VAMPS is coming to America to wow us with their music.

Funny thing, now that you mention it... last week I was talking about that with my bf, we were watching Evanescent, he took the box and read "Lyrics&Music: HYDE" and asked why they were VAMPS now if the songs were by Hyde with some collaboration from K.A.Z, like they used to be. We thought that maybe Hyde had loved the tint K.A.Z gave to Faith, and thus concluded that his arrangements were so important that he deserved credit for making hyde's music so deep... but there is the fact that VAMPS sounds entirely different!
For us, Roentgen was simple, poetic, romantic, and absolutely beautiful; 666 was more energetic and a little more mainstream; Faith was deep and very well detailed, groomed in every sense and a little frenetic, it seemed a pilgrimage or something like that. And VAMPS? Just fun so far, at least regarding the singles... until EVANESCENT! :-D that showed us they can be deep. We are still waiting for the album in hope for a deep energetic track or two, Faith-like style, until then, I can't but love VAMPS unconditionally (I will keep on loving them anyway, who am I trying to cheat?).
Yet I still love L'arc-en-Ciel more, because that's the gathering of 4 great musicians, it is not like they are parts of a single being, but 4 complete powerful beings merging into a META-SUPREME-Being... like the Megazord X-D

RE: I'm sad
Yeah, I was thinking about that too, things like people not caring about the fliers and things that I'd put out. But I try not to let those things get to me, as long as I like them and am going to see them and am trying my best to promote, that's all the matters. At least your putting effort into something you love. I know I'm gonna be proud of myself for trying (once I get my promo stuff. lol).

RE: I'm sad
u know, these songs are lighter and not so deep, but i think hyde is the guide here and this just demonstrates the place that he is in right now, a lighter straight rock and roll place. if thats where he is now i will follow him there. he seems like he likes to do the sound he can't do with laruku cuz laruku is locked into a certain sound(which i also love). i don't want him to strain his voice tho with a lot of screaming.

I personally LOOOVE the VAMPS sound. It's such a sexy, raunchy old school rock n' roll sound! It's fun, exciting and so energetic. HYDE has the talent to do anything.
