Most talk show websites have a "suggestions" or "comments" area, so we can ask them to feature VAMPS...it might not happen before their U.S.A. tour this year since it's a little late by now, but they might be interviewed at the end of the year or even next year if enough people request!!

Sites I've left suggestions on:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3032633?ta=y (The Today Show)
http://www.oprah.com/index
http://ellen.warnerbros.com/
http://tyrashow.warnerbros.com/

I've also e-mailed Shojo Beat since they've featured HYDE in their June 2006 issue: letters@shojobeat.com

In all my comments, I've told them to contact Ai Aota since she's in charge of the tour promotion.

VAMPS-some! Who is Shojo Beat btw? Ha ha ha...it seems like exhaustion is starting to kick in for me...

Shojo Beat is similar to Shonen Jump. It is full of manga. They do lots of advertising and offer tidbits about Japan. L'arc and Hyde have both been mentioned in it or on their website.

Shojo beat and shonen jump are awesome when promoting new talents, and since they helped a lot with Hyde previous tour they should be able to help now ^_^!

Maybe leave fliers on Japanese restaurants? or hot topic xD

Another idea for those of us who got the postcards. (I am shy by nature but if I see something I am interested in I will approach and talk about it to the person who has it.) Punch a hole in one of the postcards and put it on a lanyard and wear it photo-side out. Cheap and easy advertising. Granted it is small, but if you are in line somewhere someone may ask about it.

Another thought for you Tracy since you seem to be spearheading the radio campaign....thanks!
I Googled Japanese radio stations usa and came up with a couple of hits. I can't get to these sites to see if they would be helpful but you might want to check out the japanaradio and the live365 and see if we could advertise there. They appear to already be geared to jrock fans.
Another idea.....the San Diego Reader is a free "magazine" here. On their website at http://www.sandiegoreader.com/music/ there is a place for bands to create their own page and then advertise upcoming events. As usual, I can't get to it here at work due to the filters....ggrrrrrr......anyone want to check it out? The Reader is a popular item here in the San Diego area.

That's a good idea. And if your fliers came today, maybe mine will too...I hope... mail doesn't come to my house until after 3pm. |D
But I like that idea. Or even making a smaller version, punching a hole & putting on lanyard and putting it on your keys/phone. I know I have a gazillion phone charms on my phone and whenever somebody sees it, they always want to look at all of them. Or a lot of people have keys hanging off their belts, so that's an idea.

The event is called, "Japan Day" or something like that. If any of you plan to attend, that would be the ideal place to promote VAMPS and it would be a really, really, really big help. Here's some more info:

http://japandaynyc.org/main/

On that note. Is anyone else from the NYC area planning on going to that? I know I'll be around probably all day, so I don't know if anyone else from here was planning on going, but if you are let me know!!!

Facebook Events for EC shows I know of:

New York - Irving Plaza
Baltimore - Sonar (the event is created by the venue, but it seems not a lot of people know about it. :|)

About the radio stations - Like I said, Z100, the radio station in NYC did play Utada Hikaru's English song on March 26th and even interviewed her! (http://z100.elvisduran.com/pages/ondeman...views.html) So I think sending them Love Addict would be a good idea - song is completely in English, so there can't be any complaints there.
L'Arc~en~Ciel - NYC - Madison Square Garden - March 25, 2012

RE: Vamps Sponsors & Promoting Ideas
Hello everyone!

I'm Karo from the Firefly Projects. We've been trying to help VAMPS out. We're located in Ohio though, so it's a bit rough going. Hahah.

If you guys have every heard of crunchyroll.com or have an account, we've made a group dedicated to this tour
http://www.crunchyroll.com/group/VAMPS_US

Of course we tried to create an event on Facebook...it's hard, but please try and help!
http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=5...198&ref=mf

Here are our biggest event though. We are a non-profit organization (a charity), and we are putting on some fundraising events for ourselves and promoting VAMPS's tour, if anyone is in the vicinity.
The first is in Columbus, OH featuring 4 music groups of different global music, mainly Japanese.
The second, to hopefully really help VAMPS, will be in Balitmore, MD the day in between their 2 MD shows (July 15).

Hope to see you there!

I know the biggest radio station here in New York is Z100, and if Vamps could get mentioned or played on there, that would be HUGEEEEE because everyone listens to Z100.
They actually played Utada Hikaru on Z100 after her in-store event in NYC not too long back, but that's because of the American release of her album too... but I think if they played Utada Hikaru, that gives me hope for Vamps.
I might try e-mailing them, or calling in one time, but I'm not sure how that'll go. :'D

even if VAMPS isn't having a US release to stores, they will be releasing to ITunes and their 1st 2 singles are up, right? that could be used as you talk to these people at the different stations. and while it would be good to have VAMPS playing in every podunk town in America, concentrating first on the venue cities makes more sense. at this point there needs to be a big advertising push in those places as people are more likely to go see something new if it's only $30 than if it requires airfare.

--------------------------

Agreed. Also, that's another reason why I suggested promoting "LOVE ADDICT" more so than the others.

Right, I hear what you're saying, but to even get them interested, I think "LOVE ADDICT" will be the best way to go, for now. If they want to hear more of what VAMPS have to offer, then we can send them the others. A lot of difficulties I experienced when I had been calling radio stations to get them to play VAMPS came from the fact that they were "Japanese" and it was assumed that they only sang in Japanese. Unfortunately, a lot of people won't listen to music that they can't understand. However, I hope I'm proven wrong and VAMPS will get some airplay somewhere before the tour.

I see what you're saying and I do agree once they hear "japanese" band they go like ehhh no! Get away!

When I called I said it was a band PERIOD. I told them it was a mix of hard and soft rock.. i mean it is. Their songs are diverse and I said that. The fact that they're japanese is non of their buissness is it lol The girl told me to go ahead and send them a demo cd with a couple of songs and she said it could be a CD or a memory card.. Tracy is gonna go ahead and send it to them for me. SO~ I think we're fine sending ALL the songs. We just have to know how to aproach people. Most certantly NOT LIE just keep the info out so they can give VAMPS the opportunity they deserve! If once they hear them they're like O_o what are they singing they atleast gave them a chance and listened instead of.. oh japanese band no get away!

I know this method works because its how i've gotten ppl who hate music "they cant understand " to like Hyde's music ^^

---------------------

Which radio stations are you guys sending the VAMPS CD to? Please post the information here so others can call and start requesting their song(s). ;)

Great work so far you guys!

oops, sorry. i was trying to edit my comment of a bit ago as i realized you guys had gone way past that point and ended up just deleting it. now i see someone had included it in a response. sorry. was just gonna say in reference to Shonen Jump or Shojo Beat, i imagine it might be too late to get anything published like an ad as these types of publications work in advance. i had thought of another one, but as i was googling info discover it had quit publishing per wiki(that caught my eye as looking for addresses), they just got shut down in end of March. oh, Anime Insider was the magazine. too bad as they were covering cons, music articles. they ran a piece on L'Arc for KISS release and Drink It Down due to game connection.

out of ideas. and won't be of much use for a bit. family issues take precedent right now.

I've been hitting the Online Japanese radio stations. They are based in the USA but play nothing but Japanese music. I've been requesting Vamps and today I heard EVANESCENT on AOL radio ^^

Also I think Twitter would be a good place to promote as well. I made a twitter account for vamps:
https://twitter.com/vamprosexxx
*all the other vamps names were taken lol*

There is a few other magazines too one is called "Anime" I do believe and they have had L'Arc ad's in them before. I'll have to look through my mags again to see which ones were promoting L'arc on their America concert.
