Wooo!!!! So glad to see what he has said. So far fan information has been correct in terms of his birthday and hometown.

I seriously hope the entire book gets translated because I want to know everything in it. It is nice knowing his thoughts on things for once!

I have to laugh at myself. I've been all excited about receiving this book, as if I were going to be able to read it, when it gets here :P

I'm so thrilled someone's already in the process of releasing an English translation! I need to write and thank the translator.

I would like that too ^^ I have been trying to advertise us. However, someone else started a board for L'Arc tour so we competing with them now, I guess.

For awhile we didn't really seem to have competition. This board was never a generic fanboard, this board was created specifically for people going to shows to make plans. But it looks like the other board is doing that as well now.

Ha, I didn't buy the book because I know I can't read it. So glad there is a translation, though I've noticed that people seem to be secretive about translations for the book. It is weird because no seems to care about sharing photos, PVs, dvds, tv videos, etc but now there is this paranoia around the translation.

I wonder of Wakayama can be proud of Hyde now that he's officially recognized them, hahaha.

Where can I begin to think you for linking me to this! I would never have otherwise found it! It's so engrossing and relatable, but it's so upsetting that it might not be awhile until the next chapter is translated! I can't wait to hear more!

Yeah, I'm impatient to read the entire thing. Because of the language barrier I pretty much never know what hyde is saying in interviews and on tv, unless someone subs it, but I think he is not very serious in tv interviews and stuff.

I'm surprised and happy that in the book he is very serious and really talking about his life, not just dropping hints or being vague.

That, and it's really interesting to see why he decided to keep his personal information private, most specifically his age. I actually have to agree with what he says. There's more to a celebrity than their age, but the media in general, rather Japanese or American, seem to be very ambitious about the age of someone. Case in point, shows like American Idol typically have an age limit of 25. (Do correct if I'm wrong as I'm not exactly an expert on the show)

To me, that's just horrible. It implies that people can only be idolized if they're young and attractive. That's not to say I don't believe there is beauty in youth, but I don't believe it's the sole defining factor. Many male singers, for example, don't reach the peak of their vocal range until their approximately 40. Like, remember the 2005/2006 era, or even VAMPS LIVE 2009? Pretty much middle-aged, but HYDE's voice sounded better than it did when he was 20. Deep, baritone, a very natural sort of vibrato. It came as a little bit of a disappointment when the 2010 performances were leaked and I saw that this sort of performance didn't stay. Anyway, it's a little resentful to people of all ages to think that a news story like "Young, hot female performer sales millions with overwhelmingly negative reception" is more likely to garner attention than "Middle age musician releases song that is actually enjoyed by the masses."

So thank you, HYDE, for putting what I've had to say for the longest time into words!

i like this side of Hyde too. plus his acknowledgement that he KNOWS a lot of this info has been unofficially circulating for years and that some fans may actually be disappointed that he is finally explaining himself and verifying the correct info. [why anyone would feel this way, idek. unless it is part of that weird "elitism" some fans get into in any fandom.] i find his explanation of his "reasons" for being so SECRETIVE all of these years kinda cute and very dorky, as i would expect from the Smurfling Prince. ^ ^

so far this shows me what i have always thought about Hyde, the man. he is very considerate and conscious of his fans' sensibilities. and while there is a playfulness in many of his interactions[some of his fanclub stuff come to mind, King Hyde ^^], at heart he understands and tries to not take unfair advantage of anyone-{in anything except our wallets. XD}

i did buy this, even knowing i couldn't "read" it. heheh, what that says about me, i don't know or really care. i'm just thankful that out of the many who readily said they'd translate, UK ST admin has already started. i respect her reasons for not wanting her translations posted all over the place. it's easy enough to go to that fb and read. plus she has a lot of the latest mag interviews done and has bee translating "hyde's diary" from their stay in London 1997. intriguing read there. "we cooked and went sightseeing........." XD seriously, it is fun to read.

Gaahh! Can't look because I still want to translate it for myself >.o And I'm still waiting for my book, come to that! I hope it gets here before I have to go to Texas. It takes such a long time to get things from Japan!! Grr!! I'm kind of sad, in a way, that I don't get to have the scoop on this translation...but maybe I can do the new songs from the BUTTERFLY album instead.......

i don't know, it seems some folks weren't abiding by the rule and were copy/paste/posting without permission perhaps and in general bombarding the translator with requests to use her translation to translate in other languages. it sounded like it might be a while before she posts any more of THE HYDE. though a new episode of Hyde's diary-london 1997 was up yesterday.

so, you might still be able to get a jump on finishing the book. but translations of Butterfly would be great too!!

when did you order yours? after release or preorder? if after, any lateness could be due to needing to restock. i saw a report that they had sold out in a lot of shops and were having to restock the shelves. could be with some online retailers too.

lots of folk are getting this. including Hyde's fanboys. Mao of SID has posted a pic of Butterfly and The HYDE on his ameblo website and i googled a tweet where he said he wanted to go to a Live. and Yasu of Acid Black Cherry posted pics with the album and book and another imitating Hyde's cover pose on his. haha, fanboys.

I think I will have to get on that...there are only a few tracks so shouldn't take too long...I remember wanting to translate wild flower in particular...

I ordered mine on preorder the second it was announced. And they said it was shipped on the 29th...I think CD Japan is slow...but I haven't checked my mail today so actually let me pop out for a second....! Nope :( Not there :( But I will get started on Butterfly here in just a little bit :)
