I panicked a bit when I read that cuts on the video were not allowed... fortunatelly it´s been clearified by J *thank you*.
Not a skilled singer (yeah, I know they aren´t necesarily just picking the good voices, but I respect them and dun wanna hurt their hears XD), but I gonna give it a try ;3 the prize is gorgeous and it seems like fun.

Take a look at the 4th page of this thread
He wrote, if I understood correctly, that you can "play" with the image for the MV however you feel like (always following the rules stated)

He didn't say that, he said u can be creative... what he said is, u don't have to show up in the camera 100% of the time, but nothing about cuts ><' This is why I remain havin' a lot of doubt!

Though he DID clarify that you don't have to be in front of the camera 100% of the time, just to be the MAIN SUBJECT of the video, singing. And that the whim is the most important thing ever, and Hyde and K.A.Z. are going to focus on that, more than the 'rules'. But don't miss the basic rules no way 8B

I just wanted to be 100% sure I CAN record a video without being a 'live karaoke', 'cause my idea envolves a lot of whim, but I need to take a lot of shoots to do so!

As I wrote, "if I understood correctly"^^ Regarding what he said about that there´s no need to be all the time in front of the camera I can only conclude that cuts are allowed (I´m refering to the image for the video, I have a feeling that the audio being totally "live" and with YOU singing is the most strict point). Of course I can be wrong, but the rules don´t state that you can´t edit the image.
I understand what you mean, that´s my problem too, so that´s why I decided to give it a try with the cuts (my whole idea is based on adding stuff here and there, and I don´t have the guts to be 1:37 minutes in front of the camera anyway, even if I´m allowed to go hide in the middle of it and...dunno, make some puppets dance?)

I´m sorry I can´t share with you anything but my impression about this matter, I hope others will be able to help you.

so has anyone heard the answer on if you can precord your voice on your video?? & whats this about you can't cut up your video scenes?? is that true?
