Hellohello,

Dates and locations have been announced (with maybe more to come?) so I need to start getting moderators for the main languages. (Later, if another language becomes really popular on the board, then I'll add a new moderator for that).

Before you apply there are some things to consider. Long, but important:

Some Requirements:

Must be bilingual in English and 1 other desired language. Need to be able to speak (type) English/Other well enough that people can easily understand you. And you must be fluent enough to easily understand others. (Can't moderate if ya don't understand the language, ya know?)

Must have time. I hate when mods on other boards whine about how they don't have time to be a mod. If you don't have time then don't apply.

Must be nice and fair. Treat your friends and enemies equally when it comes to moderating duties. And no bitchy or elitist attitudes.

No Power tripping!!! You will have the power to move/delete threads and warn users. Don't abuse it. No deleting posts just because you don't like the post (only delete if it's against the rules/spam). No editing user posts unless it's really needed. Don't warn people over minor things.

Relax. Don't be ban happy.

Know when to moderate and when to STFU. Sometimes you are needed, sometimes you are not. For example, if an argument starts don't immediately jump in to stop it. If it's not too vulgar then sometimes it's best to just sit back and let it take it's course. (Silencing people can cause built up frustration and the person might explode on us later.)

So use your brain. If the argument is getting bad then jump in and remind everyone to play nice. If it's just tense but not too nasty then let it be and the people will usually work it out themselves.

Don't moderate in anger. If you're in a bad mood then just go away for awhile and relax. Don't want ya deleting everything because you had a bad day

Respect EVERYONE. Other mods. Me. Members. I don't care if you disagree with someone but you better still respect them. The code word is read.

Moderator Duties:
Include, but are not limited to:

- Maintaining the peace on the forum

- Making sure threads are in the right sections

- Deleting spam

- Translating important forum information (such as rules or announcements)

- Helping members use the forum (explaining how to do something, etc)

- Acting as translator between me and non-English speaking members when needed (ex: if a Spanish speaker has a problem with their account, I'll need a mod to translate back and forth for us while we work out the issue)

Why should I choose you?
Because I'm being part of the French street team leading couple, and I've been an administrator for the number one VAMPS French forum for two years. So I'm familiar with moderator duties. In that context, I have proved to be be both respectufl and nice to everyone, even clumsy newbies.
I also have experience in translating French to English and English to French.
And also, if ever there is an emergency need, I can deal with the Japanese language quite fairly too.
