I just posted about the Baltimore show, so I want to hop over here and talk about what happened at Columbia. This show was AMAZING, despite being so short!
There were hardly any people there, so I got a really good spot in front of Kaz's side of the stage. While the band before VAMPS was playing, I saw Ju-ken, Jin, and Kaz a LOT on the right side of the stage (Ju-ken kept dancing to the music). At one point, I saw a bunch of fans screaming and charging through the crowd in my direction from the left side of the stage, and when I turned I saw Hyde walking towards the back (he waved to everybody). That was my first sighting of Hyde ever
After the band before them left, Ju-ken came out and helped with setting up the instruments. He's really great. I heard them testing the backing track for "Redrum", which made me extremely happy because that's my favorite song on the album!
The band came out on stage right on time, and with the bright sun you could see all of the band members
really clearly. They were so close, too - not even 15 feet away. Hyde and Ju-ken made lots of eye contact with the crowd, which was great. Ju-ken was especially awesome at getting the crowd worked up! On the MC, Hyde lamented that they wanted to do a longer show but they had "no time".
After the show, I joined the crowd on the side and saw Hyde, Kaz, and Jin (I missed Ju-ken *cries*). I wanted to get Hyde's autograph, but it looked like he was about to leave, so I stuck out my hand for a quick handshake. Because of my angle, I had to stick out my *left* hand, and Hyde held out his right hand and then got really confused as to how to shake it! He stood there for a second trying to figure out how to position his hand, so I flipped my left hand backwards and he shook it that way (we were both laughing!).
Then I went over to Kaz and got an autograph on my fan. Unfortunately, on the first autograph, his silver pen was running out and didn't show up very well. He did the best he could and handed the fan back, and one of the staff members next to me handed me a black pen and said to try it instead. So I took that, turned around, and Kaz was signing something else with a gold pen. I stood there kind of in a daze for a second and then Kaz turned and saw me standing there with the fan and the black pen. The staff member kept insisting I get another autograph, so I handed the fan back to Kaz and he signed the fan AGAIN under the first signature, but this time with the gold pen.
So I got two Kaz autographs on the same fan!
I shook his hand and thanked him. Everybody was so nice!
Btw, I want to apologize for not talking with anyone else who was there that day - at the time of the concert, I had been awake for over 30 hours straight (8 hours of which were spent driving), and I wasn't really in my right mind
But it was an incredible show, and I am SO glad that I went! I have to say, though, that the Warped Tour was really unorganized and the staff didn't seem to have any idea what was going on. But it was all worth it as soon as VAMPS walked out on stage!
