let's just be glad they will be returning to the US this coming Fall. :D then we will give them hell about the DVD >:D
LOL I really don't see a big issue on the DVD thing :-p
About support... many fans from Latin America have reacted not angry at VAMPS but at themselves, and I disagree. I am not angry at VAMPS, last year I was VERY angry because of the first name of the tour and what it really was (AMERICA TOUR->USA TOUR) might seem a logical thing for people living in the USA, but for us was like being told we'd get cookies, then saying we wouldn't because it was obvious they were not addressing all of us or something like that :-p It was for me a matter of how things were said, about painful misunderstandings and the apparent lack of sensitivity to tell us we weren't in. Were we naive? most likely, but still we were hurt, we didn't need to be called silly after that shock X-D
This time around they've been very careful, I respect that a lot.
But as I don't blame them, I don't think we should blame ourselves. During last year's tour, we fans were told a lot that the band was bound to be awesome if we had traveled, camped, made banners, whatever for them, they ARE awesome, but we do our best too. Promoting VAMPS is not our "duty" or "homework", it is our pleasure :-D
haha there aren't any one big issue with the DVD. It's just multiple ones that add up, that's what I meant.
Yeah, I can see your frustration, Hedelex, with the whole misunderstanding of "America Tour." They should really specify. Then again, people from outside America doesn't really see the way we do. To them, we are a huge country, so I'm guessing they can only generalize rather than specify where they would perform in a country. Sorta like how we think of Europe. What's the first thing we think of? Probably London for most of us. We only think of the big name cities rather than small unknown ones. Just my two cents. I don't know what I'm yapping about lol.
*sigh* either way, the DVD is out. Not much we can do now. If J ever holds a panel again like he did at Anime Expo 2009, let's voice our opinions again and make something clear to him so he can relay the info back to VAMPS. And please, to certain people(probably no one on this forums), don't ask him silly questions again...
Ok....excuse me for being ignorant....I thought the tour was an American tour? Now I am understanding that this was not what people thought it was?
Sorry for being dense.....can you please explain what the problem was? I am truly confused.
no problem, cathb. I think what Hedelex meant was... when VAMPS announced their tour last year, they said America Tour. So some people thought it could happen in North America as well as South America. Unfortunately, just by saying America tour made it too vague and got people from South America's hopes up because they think they would get a tour too with the theory that since MONORAL went to Mexico, VAMPS will too, since they are part of the same record label. However, to VAMPS, America means USA.
Ok...thanks....because America means the 50 states and usually includes Puerto Rico. It does not mean South America or Central America. That is why I was confused...... Now if they had said a North American tour or a tour of the Americas, that would be a different story. But if they said an American tour, then that is what they did....an American tour.
That is why I couldn't see the issue. Because I thought they had said an American tour. I was just checking to see if I had misunderstood something.

Hey cathb,
We were somewhat pissed because the DVD is not in region-free format, which means that those of us living in the U.S., can't watch the DVD. The DVD is region-2, which is for Japan/Asia. The DVD does in fact contain the USA tour, but due to the format the DVD is in, it means that it was most likely released for fans in Japan only, not for those of us in the U.S.. I hope this clears things up a bit.
Much VAMPS-love,
H.P.
Thanks...I was confused on the name of the tour though which I already replied to.
I guess my thinking is that I am so used to them being a Japanese band that I only expect everything to be in region 2....for their native country. Just like when they buy from the U.S., they know it is not compatible for them.
All of L'arc's stuff or SID's stuff that I buy (or anyone else from Japan) is always region 2. I guess that I just don't think about it.
Everything that I own is region free or was hacked to be so. Just another expense of loving a Japanese band. :)
I just checked and mine is region free.
