RE: The topic that will cause contraversy and death for years to come
the great thing about music, lyrics and art of any type is that there are no hard and fast definitions. what is shallow and merely FUN to one can be deeply philosophical to another and both can be right!! AND neither might be what the composer/lyricist had in mind when the piece was written.
actually, what Hyde had in mind or was inspired by might bear no similarities to what any of us might think or even what he might admit to in a magazine. it might be very personal, and he wouldn't want to expose his feelings so openly to the world. or, people could have attached huge importance to something he hadn't considered and it would be embarrassing to make it known that fans had out-thought the lyricist. haha, these things do happen. that's not to say he doesn't reveal his feelings or inspirations truthfully in interviews, i'm sure he does that too. what is important is that the listener finds something that speaks to them in some manner, whether it is the lyric, the guitar solo, the beat of the song...... or so i think.
i don't see any difference in the amount of effort put into any of Hyde's music, whether L'Arc, earlier solo or VAMPS. he works hard and so do his various partners in which ever project he is working on.
lat thought...depth of emotion doesn't just imply romance, sorrow, angst. it can mean sex or good humor too, the whole gamut of human emotion. depth is just a measurement of degree. not style.
