Really, lots?
I'm sure people do small favors, here and there, often as innocently as having a friend or loved one who loves the artist(s), and being in a position to get them a little closer to the artist or band, in some way. As for knowingly accepting sexual favors for other favors, that's a different matter; we know it happens, but I'd say that's according to the caliber of people working for whomever, the venue, management, etc, as to whether that happens.
However, I was answering Tokio in the spirit in which she made the suggestion, I hope!, which was only jokingly. Maybe it doesn't read that way, in print.
I was looking for information like, do those who are successful at getting the best seats have a faster Internet connection, do they specify a certain price range or seating area, or just let the site choose best available seating, automatically, and so on. Nothing too sensational :P
There must be some techniques that help your chances, because scalpers apparently have some methods for consistently grabbing them up from all of us.

Does anybody here have the secrets to catching great seats, out of the gate?
Sleep with upper level staff**
**Warning: May catch more than just seats
(I cannot confirm that this works since I've never tried. But if you're desperate....)
There's just so much wrong with that response, Tokio, I just don't know what to say first. I think we'd better get you to a concert venue, STAT.
And I'm not desperate. I'm determined. There's a difference.
And, say...just what are you suggesting about how LArcBoy got his ticket?
It happens in all famous bands/performers, I've heard a LOT of stories of fans getting their way for good tickets or VIP experiences by being "friends with benefits for a night" with bodyguards, staff members, etc.
So if it sounds bad, it's real out there, but I'm also confused how people tend to ALWAYS get first row seat every time, there must be some true trick...which I would love to learn.
I am the Desire...
The need for fresh .blOod VAMPS is strong in me.
