This indicates that you weren't following what I was saying, but that's ok. The whole point of mixing is to make parts that are too quiet louder, and parts that are too loud quieter.....to achieve a good "mix" of sound. Unless his mic was turned off, they got it.
The volume issues would've most likely been with the PA system, traditionally which comes after the mixing board. Amps are loud, but mic'd through the PA. Vocalists don't have an amp. The PA is their amp.
Chances are the PA was bad or under-powered, and you were hearing their amps louder than the PA. Or something.

Yeah...what you said....lol. I think that the amps were too loud for the mics.

I do have a barrel of Hyde pics. Will try to update tonight. I just like the pen-o-graph cos it's the absolute goofiest single still pic I have of him.
Edit: Found a temporary one I already had online (for now). It's mysteeeeeeeerious!

---------------
I could hear the band before them play and it was ok. However, when VAMPS performed, the sound was significantly worse. So, my assumption is that something happened during the transition from one band playing to another. I can't quite describe it.
Look, I understand the "mixing" process, but taping a live show for a DVD doesn't involve putting the volume so low that people can't hear clearly. It could quite possibly be that they lowered the volume too low by accident, and coupled with the Wiltern's already bad sound system, it proved to be a disaster. Again, there could have been a combination of things that went wrong, none of which I don't think purposely happened. To be quite honest, I don't think we'll ever know. :(

I do believe that's more along the lines of what you had in mind.
The other one was just the only one I had online to link to.

RE: impressions
From a scale from 1 to 10...I'll give my impression a 15!!!
I arrive @ 8am to the Wiltern, and luckily I've made #129 for the autographs. I've met a bunch of nice/crazy girls that were a blast to meet [I came completely ALONE from PR, and nobody knew that I was alone out there].
The wait was crazy and fun because people stopped by from their cars or walking asking why we were sitting there so early. Some people even took photos of the line and a construction worker was screaming that we were crazy ^^
I went a couple of times to the CVS pharmacy in front of the Wiltern and the manager asked me if I was for the line as well. When I told him that I came from Puerto RIco just for this, he said that VAMPS must be very good to have fans like us, because he didn't remember seeing such commotion for a presentation at the Wiltern. He was so nice that he always made sure that I got nice discounts on everything I bought...and even gave me a pack of batteries for my camera for FREE!
When I finally met KAZ and HYDE, I gave KAZ a monkey plush toy. He looked surprised by it and smiled at me and said "Thank you" [he looked so damn hot] and then I gave HYDE a lamb that said "Bless Me" [it reminded me of the song Masquerade] and then he said:
"Yeah, it's my lamb"
I nearly screamed in front of him.
So fucking CUTE!!
After hours waiting, I finally made it to the ground [I realized at the moment that I had a second floor ticket, but changed it immediately] and loved the whole show. Don't ask me for song list because I sang everything and I was so much into the music that I don't know the order, but I can tell my favorites:
~Dolly [love that song]
~Jesus Christ [it always makes an impact on me when i hear it live]
~Sweet dreams [didn't liked the song that much, and this live made me fall in love for it]
~Vampire depression [there's no one who can tell the opposite]
and when the mic started to have problemas and the staff guy started to fix and it kind of bent down, HYDE when down with it still playing and singing like the PRO he is, which made me scream even more...that proves how good he is on stage...and damn he was like unstoppable! He almost sang everything non-stop!
Hot, Hot HOT!
I felt like crying when he said about ending the tour, because he looked and felt like he didn't wanted to leave, and most by the way that fans welcomed him in this tour. I've heard that he was shocked by how fans waited in line like days and the gifts and devotion for them was completely unexpected for him. he felt welcomed when he came for his solo for the first time, and maybe he though that it would have changed a little...but no like this.
So I'm happy that he felt loved by us the fans and even more when people waited almost twenty more minutes on the theater after the show screaming for them [i was there too ^^] and in the end I got one of HYDE's roses...talk about luck! ^^
"...because I'll always feel you in me"

Lol!! The lamb was perfect because of Hunting. In the song, he says, "Where's my lamb?" So that's probably why he had that reaction :)
@Bill: you have such cute pictures of hyde, but this is my favorite recent one with him
