Impressions
Well I got home from VAMPS and I gotta say that while VAMPS were awesome, I am not a huge fan of the venue. I am not very experienced with shows in general but I tend to prefer bar style venues where I can sit down for a portion of the show (although it is not as important here as we had no opener).
I was very happy to hear them play some of my favorite songs (Countdown, Life on Mars? (Bowie cover), Jesus Christ and others). As always, Hyde is awesome and it was amusing when he started asking the audience what was in San Diego to do.
The crowd was a little pushy around me but nothing bad. One of the girls told her friends to stop with the pushing after a few songs so it wasn't ever an issue. Also, everyone needs to get a pair of concert ear plugs if you don't already have them.

I don't mean to plug any specific store, that place just has a good price.
Having them is great because you can listen to the band at full volume and protect your hearing. Anyway, vamps rocks and would totally go again!!

RE: Impressions
Thanks for the review! I wish they had played "Jesus Christ" when they were in Maryland (love that song!). I also posted a link to those same earplugs over in the Sonar thread, although the ones I used at the show were these (I only just thought to search the Lowe's site for them!):
http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=pr...lpage=none
Very similar, but much cheaper and worked like a charm.

RE: Impressions
Like the others have said, it was a small venue. It was also very hot inside. Poor Ju-ken was soaked by the end of the second song. I could barely see K.A.Z but Hyde was sweating, too. They all mopped their faces and Ju-ken threw out his towel to the audience.
The crowd was good, only some pushing and not too bad for most of the show.
Due to the size of the venue, Ju-ken and Hyde got touched whether they wanted to be or not. Like I said, I didn't see K.A.Z so I don't know what was going on over there. At one point, Hyde turned his back on the crowd and let the big girl in the front row support him and he basically laid down on her. That drove everyone nuts!!
He mentioned that he liked the weather in San Diego....not too cold, not too hot. He also asked the crowd what there was to do as they had only gotten in the night before (still gambling I suppose). People shouted out suggestions such as Sea World, the zoo, and beaches. He had trouble understanding the word "beach" and needed some translation help. Then he talked about the zoo and mentioned the pandas and how cute they were. He said that San Diego had baby pandas.....six of them. Then he laughed and said he had looked it up on the Internet.
The set list was pretty much the same so I guess I won't get to hear "Hello" in L.A. :(
Hyde did quite a bit of crying before he started singing Sweet Dreams. I do agree with others that this was written for his son. Perhaps he heard a lot of "daddy will be gone so long so please don't go" before he left. It has to be hard to be so far away from his family. My heart goes out to him.
The band was great, the crowd was good, and I am sorry to have to come back to reality soon and see it all end.
They were selling the VAMPS cups for $1.00 along with the regular merchandise.

RE: Impressions
I thought the audience was pretty mellow for the most part. I mean there was a little expected rowdyness and few girls where trying to squirm in front of me but there was a lot of space by Ju-Ken and I got to move around pretty nicely.
I got there at 7:15 planning on the whole breakfast thing but there was already a line. Ju-Ken is so cool! When we where waiting in line we went over and saw all of them enter. (Except for Hyde and Kaz) We Sat there for a while and I started hearing bass strings clicking. I looked over and watched Ju-Ken tune his bass. He and Arimatsu were hanging out back for a while but the staff put up a baricade to block out view. I snuck around back and was scoping them out from a wall. The staff spotted me so I started walking awak but I looked at Ju-Ken and gave him the horns, he reached up high in the air and gave them back to me. This girl tryed to walk up to them and used the "excuse me but where is the bathroom" ploy. XD The security yelled at us and chased us all away. It was pretty funny. We stayed back where we were for a while and listened to Ju-Ken shred on his bass and caught glimpses of the guys for a while. eventually Kaz came out and I wispered but loud enough he coould hear "kaaaaz!... Kaaaaz!... Kaaaaaz...!" He looked at me and I started jumping up and down flapping my arms around all over the place and he smiled and waved to me!!! It made me soooooo excited.
The concert was amazing. I didn't mind so much the heat and I kind of like small intimate venues. I got two solid high fives from Ju-Ken and I got to pluck some strings on his bass. My friend holly got a pick from Kaz. They added Made In Heaven to the setlist to my delightful suprise, which had me jumping around like a maniac. I kept making eye contact with Ju-Ken and as he kept trying to get everyone jumping up and down he pointed at me a couple of times. It was really cool to get so much notice from him. I was amazed at how perfect they sound live. It was really powerful and the people I brought who aren't really into jrock got really into it. They had a really good time and said they'd be listening to Vamps now =)

RE: Impressions
I think it's really cool they played in what was basically a garage considering they'll play the Budokan at end of this tour, but it's like Hyde said "we came here cuz of you" thanks so much VAMPS ! Thanks also to cathyb for saving my space in line and to hedelex for the vamps button, and to whoever it was that gave me the glow sticks
Ps. SD show was sweet !

Oh wow, this sounds like it was so good! I can't believe you could touch Ju-Ken's bass during the set and it sounds like the gap between audience and stage wasn't that much?? That's really cool. *___* Ahhh I miss VAMPS. lalsjdflsdlkflsd ;____;
