A cooler would be great! And I've been really wondering about bathrooms as well...I didn't notice the portable toilet in that flickr picture before - I wonder if it's still there? It looks like the surrounding area has a lot of office/apartment-type buildings (from what I could tell on Google), so I don't know if there's anything else really close by that we could use..

ETA: I've just been looking into it and I think that the place on the corner across the street (see here) is the Hollywood Diner, so that might be an option.
ETA2: Yep, it is! I just saw it on the street view. Might be a good place to get something to eat, too?
ETA3: Looks like they close in the early afternoon though (2pm?). But it might be nice for us in the morning.

i have a feeling the Sonar people think we're a bunch of weirdos anyway. they just don't realize what they're dealing with. these guys aren't well known to them, but they have a sizable international following who are willing to shell out to travel from as far as Australia to come see VAMPS/HYDE, cause admittedly, he is the main draw for many if we're honest. they may have some well known acts play there, but the crowd is mostly local or from nearby states at most. NOT other continents! and i'm not forgetting the rest of the Americas, Europe or Asia or anyplace else people are booking flights from.

they need to wake up and realize this could be bigger than they think. imo. XD

Oh yeah, I hear ya. Same problems back in 2006 when HYDE came. At Slim's I don't think they were prepared for him to be so popular, and they were flooded with so many phone calls to the point that they were just hanging up on people.

SONAR seems like a decent place, they're just probably inexperienced with Jrock fans.

by the time July rolls around, i think they will either love us or never want another J-rock act again. ^^ we just need to be patient, haha, "like ninja!" i don't know where that popped out from , but lmao just picturing it. XDD

I'm sure after us Sonar will run far far away.

It's right before the anime convention so I'm sure we'll run into some anime creatures in line.

Then of course there is going to be the jrock/alternative fashion folks. The crazier the better.

Sonar may not be prepared for all the Visual Kei/Harajuku/Lolita/InuYasha people in one place.

gee gosh, i'd momentarily forgotten the cosplayers might be doing dress rehearsals! add to all the above those who might forgo comfort in the heat and press of sweaty bods in order to dress to impress the band. this is gonna be more fun than these poor club owners have ever had! ^_^bb

i can't wait! :DD

Dude, the only thing I'm worried about right now... is finding the damn place from the Sheraton... >.< I'm so nervous I'll get lost and then not get in line quick enough...

we can make maps maybe before the time comes so everyone can find their way around. but actually, i went to the Otakon site the other day and they had a link to a pdf map which listed some of the hotels they are connecting to as well as eateries, markets/drug stores and sushi places. i had to lol at the last one, i guess it is rather inevitable. i'm sure if there were ramen/noodle shops they'd have their own icon too. ^^

click on the "map of hotels" and you get the dl. it's also just listed under location: map of hotels if you can't do pdf. the other map link "map" on the link page is a neat interactive map of the city, sponsored by the city i guess. it was pretty easy for me to navigate around, and i'm not really that good with directions. if you look at Sonar's site, check the map there and mark it on your printed out copy you'll have an easy means to plot your route. besides, you won't be the only one coming from the Sheraton, i'm sure. this is what i do in new places because i don't do verbal directions well sometimes. XD

brings another point which may have been made, and then i'm calling it quits tonight kids. before July, 3 months from now, we should get a final tally of who's going to which shows, where folks are staying(can you tell i'm from the South?), when they plan to line up etc. that way, people can find other folks to partner up, tag along with, set up designated meeting points and times, arrange POTTY BREAKS in line.... important stuff, but doesn't have to be finally determined for another month or so perhaps. still, it's good to get these notions in the air for everyone who reads to think about and maybe come up with more and better ideas.
