Chile DVD
I just finished watching it. Definitely not one of my favorites. It will probably be one that I will not watch again. Others watching it with me had the same opinion.
What was with the sound? Hyde was drowned out by the music for the whole live. Which helped sometimes as he made lots of mistakes...but those only make him more adorable.
I've never seen a DVD (of any band) before which had the majority of the show as fan shots. Not enough footage of VAMPS and way too much time spent showing the fans.
Not impressed at all by this one. Sorry VAMPS. You've done much better in the past.

RE: Chile DVD
I enjoyed the DVD a lot, tho I agree there were too many shots of the audience, showing them more than the band. A few songs featuring the fans would've been cool, but not every...
Other than that, really liked it! I thought the music sounded great. Great setlist + awesome performance + cool venue + nice and sexy shots of the band (when they did show them) made for a supercool DVD overall :D
Although I did not go to Chile it brought back lots of memories of the shows I did go to.
Can't wait for whatever's next, I guess Japan live DVD (with RUMBLE included this time pleaseee), or better yet I'm still hoping for a world tour documentary DVD. I was expecting this DVD to have a Chile-only docu bc some sites said in its description that it would, but it doesn't. Actually gives me more hope for a separate WT docu with all the shows on it (makes sense)! :)

RE: Chile DVD
I've not watched all the DVD yet (just YouTube clips) but I'll agree it certainly isn't their best in terms of cinematography. You can see that their primary intention is to capture the energy of the fans, which the DVD does a nice job of doing, but fails to capture how the band feeds off said energy.
EDIT - Though after rewatching (granted again, I have not watched the entire concert) I don't quite understand the whole "the majority of the concert is shots of fans." I mean, there's a lot of shots of the fans for sure, but not so much that you next to never see the band. However, the shots of the fans really do appear to be placed at random and not really in any matter of significance.
I don't quite understand what you mean about HYDE being drowned out by the music, though. He sounds very clear to me. The few instances you don't hear him clearly it's because he has his mouth far away from the mic.
As far as the performance itself goes, most of the 2010 recorded lives in general seemed to show that either HYDE's voice was going through some sort of change (which isn't unheard of for him) or that he was not paying too much attention to the sound. I'm going for a little of both, because you can tell from the SWEET DREAMS performance that his range is still intact and can go to all the highs and lows displayed in 2009 and before. The amount of fun he appeared to be having, however, made up for it for the most part. I say "for the most part" because I was kind of upset at the final chorus of SWEET DREAMS where you can tell that HYDE is really getting into it, and I was hoping he would perform the song like that in 2009, where his vocals (in my opinion) were at some of the best I've heard from him along with FAITH LIVE and L'Arc's Awake tour DVD.
As for the rest of the members, their instrumentation is pitch-perfect as usual, but what stands out is the sound system. Each time VAMPS release a new DVD, they manage to improve their recording technique more and more. Every instrument is perfectly clear and suffers from little distortion. The guitar solos really sound amazing and the bass is just awesome-sounding.
Also, the overall performance of LIVE WIRE is probably the best thing I've seen in a long time, so yeah. <3<3<3<3 (Though admittedly, I may just be saying that because the only other recorded performance of the song is from that Jack in the Box live where Paul took over HYDE for vocals)
The only real problem I have with the DVD so far is that all the songs that aren't from the BEAST album (and some of them that are) really come across as just old. They're not really doing much to make the old songs sound fresh, which is (in my opinion) what makes the Budokan DVD from 2009 so great.
So yeah, amazing concert despite some setbacks, not-so-great cinematography. As with all the other DVD's (but most blatantly in this case), it's definitely not a substitute for actually attending the live, but it should hold over my withdrawal until the inevitable Japan live DVD and then hopefully L'Arc will release a new (hopefully good) album sometime this year.

RE: Chile DVD
I'm still waiting for mine in the mail. I ordered from Yesasia and got free shipping so that's what I deserve I guess lol. How long is the documentary segment and do they give equal service to each of the venues?

RE: Chile DVD
@ Harumi: this one is JUST the show in Chile. one disc, no lovely documentary like we've come to expect. unlike the USA 2009 dvd, they showed the full, or pretty much full, show and left out the backstage hijinks.
was definitely lively, lots of energy. i have some mixed feelings that i can't even explain to myself. liked it, and yet....something made me sad about it. idk, pay me no mind. maybe it was leftover sadness from watching Kagrra,'s last live. as in very last, will be no more. and i really loved that band.

RE: Chile DVD
Overall, I did like the dvd. Sad there wasn't any documentary though.
There were a lot of audience shots and I felt they were really milking the whole historic concert thing. Really showing how big and wild the audience was.
I'm sure it's exciting to the people who were at the Chile show, pretty good chance to see yourself on the dvd!
And I think it was cute when Hyde put the bra on his head. What a skilled man, he's pro with women's lingerie

RE: Chile DVD
I finally got my DVD and watched it. The show was great. But I am angry. I expected a DVD with a documentary. The product description for the DVD featured on Yesasia mentioned a documentary and I am not going to be satisfied until I get the product I *thought* I paid for. I wrote them an email asking them if I could have the Region 2 DVD, Japan version, with documentary as clearly described on their website. I don't think this is an unreasonable request.

RE: Chile DVD
I don't think there is another version. All the listings I've seen only have one disc. They might mention a documentary but I haven't seen any footage of it. I got my dvd from CdJapan.. it shipped from Japan so I don't see why it would be different than other Japan copies. I think it was mentioned before that all VAMPROSE dvds would be region free from now on, so I don't think there is a region 2 copy.
Maybe there will be another dvd later, I'm can't imagine them dragging cameras everywhere for no reason.

RE: Chile DVD
That's so frustrating, though! Don't tell me there's a documentary on the DVD and then not have one. I wonder if the DVD available through the link on the VAMPS official page has the documentary...it just doesn't seem feasible that they would advertise it and not have it available anywhere...
