Someone Please Tell Me This is Real
Yes, it's VAMPkito here yet again to ask for verification. I stumbled upon this while looking for a (non-live) version of the song-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcV4cWSNB1g
HYDE singing a cover of Just One More Kiss by Buck-Tick. Anyone know if this is real or not? If so, from what performance?
Listening to it, the voice doesn't sound much like HYDE's, but then HYDE has undergone a lot of vocal transformations. It actually sort of sounds a lot more like the vocalist in that fake version of GLAMOROUS SKY that was popular on YouTube before the official release in 2009.
EDIT - Actually, really listening to it, it's obviously not HYDE. Sorry for wasting your time! DX - If any mod feels the need to delete this post, feel free.

RE: Someone Please Tell Me This is Real
Actually! I believe that is hyde. It's just that the copy you've linked to, on youtube, is very distorted. I picked up a copy of this a long time ago, somewhere online, that sounds much more like hyde than that, at least to me. I should get it off of my other computer for you (I haven't moved all the files over, yet). I didn't find it authenticated, and obviously it's an audience member's recording, probably from someone's pocket, at a live. It would be interesting to put the question out there, to long-time hyde and L'Arc fans, whether any have seen him perform this.
Whenever I hear it, I always smile at his flirty, 'aa-ahhh...one more kees!' If it's not hyde, it seems so much like his way of teasing the audience.
I am the Desire...
The need for fresh .blOod VAMPS is strong in me.

Wait, Sweet Dreams by who? You're not referring to the VAMPS song are you?

Oh, if you can get that, that would be very much appreciated! If it sounds any better on the actual file than on YouTube, then maybe it is him. If so, that is sooooooooooo cool <3 - Just One More Kiss is one of my favorite songs by Buck-Tick, so hearing it sung by HYDE sounds just... SEX <3

And L'Arc~en~Ciel covered Manson's version back when they were underground and known as the Zombies (L'Arc Copy Band).

you're right, Polarwhiteseal, the ZOMBIES was a L"Arc cover band of themselves for a couple shows just before they revitalized/reformed themselves at REINCARNATION in dec. 1997(to me that qualifies as underground. ^ ^), which is one of the shows being released finally in the Five Live Archive 2. before it was shown on wowwow and what floats around are copies shared again and again from that.
Legend has it that Hyde is the singer of one of the covers of Just One More Kiss, (kiyoharu has done a legit recording and performed it with Atsushi Sakarai of Buck-Tick.) but it supposedly was a recording of him singing it at karaoke. there are several songs here and there in this category with hyde or ken or both singing. and in their early indie days, they did do a few covers of bands, like the infamous GASTUNK's Husk with Kiyoharu in 92 and in another show some members joined with members of another band and did a few songs. i don't have the names of those on this pc. moved all of that to another HD.
there is an interesting article compiled by a fan listing all of the unsorted, not so clearly placed songs performed by L'Arc over the years. i'll see if i can find the link to the original poster. Razzberi39 posted it on her lj a few months back. so, VAMPkito, the question isn't a bad one at all.

OHH! I should have figured it was that song. I love both Eurythmics' and Marilyn Manson's versions and now the Zombies' version is also great. HYDE actually sounds a lot like Manson.

Lol, sort of reminds me of the episode of Metalocolypse in which Dethlok joins a copy band of themselves and end up firing everyone in the band except themselves.

RE: Someone Please Tell Me This is Real
here's a few vids up on YT of some early examples of covers:the HUSK with Kiyoharu, SHADE by Luna Sea, Decoy by DEAD END, Dear Secret Lover by D'ERLANGER. some of these are with the mix band B'ERC~EN~CIEL with members from Ber:Sati, who also played on that show's line-up.
HUSK- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXSfQXuVN...cker=False
if you look closely this is Kiyoharu guesting with L'Arc, even though some people report it the other way. that is definitely tetsu, ken and pero accompanying hyde and kiyo.
SHADE-audio only, not sure which members are playing, definitely hyde is one vocalist as he does frontman duties introducing band and song. ken wasn't with them yet since this was may and hiro left in early june.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gkVKwpVT...cker=False
edit to add-the TOKIO song was during The Other Side of Heavenly show that was filmed. they did a P'Unk-type maneuver with ken to drums, hyde to guitar, sakura to bass and tetsu to vocals. they put up a spray-painted sign reading KIOTO-a play on names- and performed the Love You Only. that is on video. probably on YT. very funny ending between ken and sakura.
Dear Secret Lover: must be the other band's vocalist, doesn't sound like hyde at all.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uolsggGvK...cker=False
Decoy by DEAD END: this is an audio over various clips of indies L'Arc. if date of 10-27-92 is correct in title, ken is guitarist. they have all claimed to be fans at one time or another i think.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGVBucwfX...cker=False
if you can, watch all of Sometimes Before 1 & 2, the clips are up on YT. it is interesting as the SB1 has hiro and SB2 has ken. you can really hear a difference in styles as there are some songs played at both shows. and some stuff that later became recorded songs, some that never did.
there are other interesting bits i'll try to locate. but not today. i have exhausted my bit of laruku posting efforts for the day. >.<
i haven't found the link to the discography article, but here is the L'Arc~en Cyclopedia where the video post-person got some info. the site has one of the good lyrics sources, although i disagree on a few bits of the indies songs. they are based on listening, not written lyrics translated, so anyone's guess is as good as another. ^ ^ http://haruka.baka-koneko.com/
hope i didn't screw anything up. not gonna spellcheck, may be a mistake. have fun.

RE: Someone Please Tell Me This is Real
another tidbit. L'Arc performed TOKIO's very popular new song, Love you only, during their Other Side of Heavenly show that was filmed, can't remember if that was the final for that bit of touring or not. they performed as cover band KIOTO and did a D'ARK/P'UNK switch with ken on drums, sakura on bass, tetsu on vocals and hyde on guitar. it was pretty good. the vid can usually be found on YT.
