I really hope Hyde doesn't decide not to come because of swine flu...
Considering his penchant for surgeon's masks, he (or maybe all of Japan) are paranoid about teh dizeeezez.
Wouldn't THAT suck....

RE: I really hope Hyde doesn't decide not to come because of swine flu...
I don't think we'll have to worry about it. I'm sure they've already spent a ton of money on the venues, hotels, flight/transportation for staff and equipment, stage design, so on.
Also, I've heard that only a handful of people in the US got sick, and only two had to be hospitalized. The flu doesn't seem to be as bad here (better health care?). I believe a lot of it is media hype at the moment.
Also, the tour is some months away, which gives the CDC time to figure everything out.

I'm more worried about US not allowing Mexico flights to enter the country or closing borders, since that's where it started. I live in Peru so that doesn't affect me but I worry about Mexican fans =/.
The flu can be controlled is not like we are in the 18th century or something. The people that has died in Mexico so far didn't got the medical attention they needed nor they noticed the symptoms at an early stage. The worst that could happen right now is everyone going crazy and running around like headless turkey! that wouldn't help the current situation. Just remain calm and follow safety instructions to the letter.

I've also heard the air quality in Mexico City is not good? Being sick + no medicine/rest + bad air might be a factor in why people are dying in Mexico but not anywhere else.
I'm reading an article right now about a school in NY being closed because of 70-100 sick kids (though, I don't think they have test results on all of them yet). Even though they've got swin flu it said they seem to be getting over it in a day or two with some Tamiflu.
Is swin flu that much more dangerous than a regular flu? I know a regular flu can kill you also if you don't receive proper care.
Hopefully by the time the concert comes around everything will be taken care of, and no Mexican fans will be stopped from coming.
Though I do hope no fans catch it. Especially those living in Mexico since they have the worst of it.
And I do wonder how many people are REALLY sick, and how many just THINK they're sick because of the hype. You can make yourself sick if you think you are. Hopefully everyone who thinks they're sick gets tested so we can get real numbers and see how widespread this really is.

Yeah, I hear Mexico city is in a bowl on the top of a mountain, basically, so the air just kind of settles there. Dunno how true that is because I can't be arsed to go look it up. (oh, look...I suddenly became British, lol)
As for the making yourself sick thing, I'm an expert at that. I can convince myself I have any disease. All I need is a couple symptoms and I can deftly find a way to apply them to myself. I think I'm dying right now, actually.

well let's think of it this way, its supposed to grow world wide. and everyone has a chance of catching it. so eventually japan will have the same odds as the US. and as for mexico, it seems to be moving fast to the north and it should be over with by july.

I agree with the others....it is too far off at the moment. Hopefully, things will ease soon and calm back down. I expect to see them with their masks on anyway....especially in L.A. where the air is so bad.

Here in Peru we just had a false case alarm. It turned out to be regular flu plus fever ^^ if we can control it I bet the US can, specially since they have more resources ^_^ (and Asia already went through SARS so they know how to handle it)
