I didn't think the DVD itself had bad sound. I understand that the Wiltern definitely did. Watching fan-made clips of it on YouTube was evidence enough, but I think they did a decent job editing it on the DVD. Granted, not as good as its predecessors, but at least you could hear the song in its entirety, where as in FAITH LIVE, HYDE's vocals was about the only thing that you could hear clearly. (Don't get me wrong, you could still hear K.A.Z and the rest of the band, but they were all muffled).

I'm sorry you had such a bad experience at the concert. I hope you have more fun on this tour ^^ - I know what it's like to have a bad concert experience. My first concert was in 2008 and, apparently, there was a problem translating the sound requirements from Japanese to English, and as a result they got the wrong equipment. Needless to say, there were many many many many many many many many many delays in the concert and even when the concert finally started the sound was so awful I couldn't recognize a single song. Of course, the difference being that for you it was fucking VAMPS.

And I also see what you mean about HYDE. One thing about HYDE and myself is that we have very similar facial expressions (not facial FEATURES mind you, but facial expressions), so for that reason among others I've found it a lot easier to relate to him than I do most celebrities (and most people in general). When I was looking at some of the performances of the LA show on YouTube, I could feel something was wrong. He looked very fatigued, out-of-it, and simply did not want to be there. At the end of IT'S SAD, HYDE had a sort of face of "Oh boy, here comes the part where I have to scream, right?" I dunno, maybe I'm over-analyzing, but I definitely agree that he looked and sounded a lot less energetic than he usually is.

The funny thing is that K.A.Z and the rest of the band looked pumped. They were really putting out their best. I'm not saying HYDE -wasn't- trying his best, but I'm saying that K.A.Z and Ju-Ken seemed very happy and energetic to be performing. But I'm sure they were just as homesick as HYDE was.

Oh, that was VAMPS' van? I was wondering what all that commotion was! Lawl, but seriously, I vaguely remember seeing something of that in Baltimore. But I had to be on the road and leaving as soon as the show ended. I had no time to stop and see.

I would probably be jealous too if I knew that it was through a more willing way. I would rather HYDE -want- to take a picture with me than to get it by pestering him for one. HYDE, from what I understand, is an incredibly nice and gentle person (contrary to his hard rock and roll on-stage persona), but there is only so much the poor guy can take. It's not right, in my opinion, to force him, or anyone, to do favors for them like having photos taken with them. It's not only annoying, but also pressure-forming. Do such a favor for one, other fans will feel like that he should have to do one for all of them, and when he uses his own free will to say no, they get really upset and thus he'll feel morally obligated to do something to compensate (both because he truly does care about his fans and because it keeps him with a good profile in the public eyes).

3. I didn't appreciate the wasted unnecessary b-roll footage they included in some shots (i.e. the length at which they recorded the fight between those guys in NY, the police sirens, the U Haul shot, etc...).

The tour was starting to take its' toll... That upset me. I remember there was a brief few minutes where I could see Hyde's face. I remember thinking about his life performances that I've seen on YouTube and such... Different. Very different. Again, this was probably for a number of reasons, but it was still sad to see nonetheless. His energy just seemed all...wrong at the L.A. show. And it's evident in the DVD.


I dunno...this is just me. Feel free to agree or disagree with me, as we do live in a free world. :)

One thing I had mentioned while watching the video is that they seemed to focus on all of the weird looking/behavior of the fans. I said this just reinforced the bad opinions that other countries have of us.

The fans running, surrounding, hitting, etc is, sadly, typical behavior at many concerts no matter who is performing. It is part of our society....and others. Remember what happened to Princess Diana with the crazed press?

My DVD says it is region free. But I have no way of knowing since I don't have any region-only equipment in the house.

I thought Hyde was very tired during the show. Plus he knew it was being recorded and perhaps he already was worried about the sound and that pressured him, too.

They promised us that the show was going to be recorded and released. Now they get back to Japan and see what they have. Maybe they then realized how much sounded bad so they picked out the best pieces and that is why it is short. On other videos, they don't really show fans in line or the presents.....even L'arc. There were the usual audience shots at the show.

I'm not sorry that I bought it....I just wish the sound at the concert had been better.

Yeah, I wouldn't pester him for one. BUT, I would still ask. If he says no the first time, then I say okay and ask for a hug instead. Guy Love

Can you tell please where you got your DVD? Maybe it is a distributor thing? I bought in CdJapan (have not received my copy, BTW, but chose the cheaper shipping so...) Maybe YesAsia or other sources selled diferent regions?

Mine is from cdJapan also.

What is up with everyone acting so ungrateful towards VAMPS these days? They put out a DVD of the USA tour but that's not good enough because "Hyde didn't look into it" which I'd like to say he did as much as he could while playing guitar and singing at the same time. The fans look "crazy" have you seen how Japanese fans act??! They act just as crazy if not more so, chasing after their vans/cars like maniacs. Its probably no worse than the Japanese VAMPS fans. Maybe people's "bad" experiences are washing onto their view of the DVD? I'm just really sick of all the bad things people seem to be saying about VAMPS. I THOUGHT the sound was great and Hyde/Kazu/Juken/Ari/Jin all looked great and loving what they were doing.

OH and I make several appearances in the DVD :3

Like I said earlier, I enjoyed the DVD and do not regret purchasing it. My only complaint was that I thought the sound was a bit washed out compared to the Japanese shows. But I also added later on that it could be what they had to work with and they did the best they could with it.

I enjoyed seeing the show once again and I had forgotten about some parts of it. Like Ju-ken and the water bottle at the end. :)

If we all didn't like VAMPS, we wouldn't be here......and salivating for this fall.

I was in direct line of Juken and the water bottle actually so I never forgot that one at all.

I'm just saying that it seems lately fans have been complaining about everything. On Facebook, on Myspace, on here etc. Its started to wear me thin on my patience.

LOL @ the last comment! See not everything is wrong about VAMPS nowadays :-) I'll see you there... as soon as I get my DVD ¬.¬

I don't think VAMPS will be having fits about people saying nonsense. Of course I don't approve FB/MS users insulting them, but I do think, we are free to have opinions about the production of the DVD and the performances of the band members as long as we are respectful (and we are, right?).
