I've been checking out some recordings of the live from some of the fans on youtube. I must say I'm quite jealous they were able to get their cameras so close to hyde. (maybe one of you guys should've had your friend hold the camera and you run up to hyde. SURPRISE PHOTO)

But anyways, aren't there strict camera policies? Camera confiscation before the live? What about autograph sessions? Cameras ban too? I thought I should just raise this question so that fans who havent attended the shows yet know whether to bring their cameras or not. (atleast be prepare to store it away)

Maybe fans got lucky at the WARPED Tour, since it wasn't just VAMPS, so the camera policy wasn't as strict.

Yeah, I think it was the atmosphere of the WARPED Tour....totally different from the indoor venues. There is basically no way you could enforce a no-camera policy at WARPED as far as I can tell.

I don't have any official word about anything upcoming, but I can tell you that in both Seattle and Portland, the venues claimed that it was the policy of the artists, that there be absolutely no cameras brought in, excepting cell phones, and that anyone caught taking pics would be ejected.

Photos/cameras also banned at the meet and greet in Seattle.

In fact, at the Hawthorne, they initially told us that cameras were allowed, and 10 or 20 minutes later, one of the staff traveling with the band got onstage and announced that cams and photos were forbidden.

*sigh* Anyone know why Japanese Artists forbid fan cameras?

Anyways, it's definitely good to know beforehand. Don't want to show up with a camera to later find out that I have to run back to my car to put it away or maybe even worse for some fans who might not even have a car to run to. Then again, I'm sure they have camera storage right? They will charge $$$. That's what happened at House of Blues 3 years ago.

I don't think it's just Japanese artists. I think I've seen a lot of American artists that don't permit cameras during the concert too. I think it's primarily because cameras can be a distraction to the band or something like that.

But to answer the primary question of the topic, I believe in all shows, cameras are strictly forbidden inside the venue building, both video and photographs.

at the soma it just says no VIDEOS so maybe i'll be abel to take my camera in with me!?

It's no cameras, pictures or video anywhere. It's VAMPS policy, and it overrides the venues general policy. That's just how it is in Japan - no cameras, and fans generally follow this rule.

Just think about it - if you're in the back, do you really want 203840238 arms holding up cameras, blocking your view? :/

Warped Tour was different because yeah, outdoors, no way to really enforce no cameras, there's nothing anyone can do, which is why there is probably good video from Warped Tours.

I meant for the autograph sessions. Yeah, it would be quite distracting if people raise their cameras during the live.

There are no cameras during the autograph sessions because the sessions are very, very fast. They would take 3 times as long if everyone had to get a picture taken of/with the band.
