Roseland Ballroom - missykitty - 09-28-2010 I went by Roseland Ballroom this past weekend, to check it out, and I figured I'd share some pictures with you all, so you can an idea of it: ![]() By missykitty at 2010-09-28] Banner hanging in Kinokuniya! ![]() By missykitty at 2010-09-28 Roseland Ballroom outside view... ![]() By missykitty at 2010-09-28 ![]() By missykitty at 2010-09-28 Parking rules around the venue, for those driving... ![]() By missykitty at 2010-09-28 VAMPS!!! ![]() By missykitty at 2010-09-28 I'm already prepared for the questions. "What are you waiting for?" "*points up* THESE GUYS!!! ![]() There is a problem I forsee with lining up, however... ![]() By missykitty at 2010-09-28 ![]() By missykitty at 2010-09-28 Doors. This entire block is pretty much composed of nothing but DOORS which I am sure we cannot block... that Jersey Boys door, my friend said on the weekend there is generally 2 shows of that on a Saturday or Sunday, 2pm and 8pm I think? And people line up for that an hour or so early... so... we may run into trouble there... That aside, seriously, I have no idea where those of us who are getting there early can really sit down and wait in line... guess we'll figure it out but, fair warning, it will be problematic. :x Hope this is helpful! :) RE: Roseland Ballroom - vegetapr69 - 09-29-2010 Thanks a lot for the photos...it will help us a lot to find the venue^^ although I don't know if by 4-5 AM will tell me the difference lol RE: Roseland Ballroom - kitty - 09-29-2010 thats so cool :D i love all the posters! RE: Roseland Ballroom - missykitty - 09-29-2010 Just look for the Roseland banner! XD Haha~ yeahhh if you get there when its dark though... everything will look the same. |D; (09-29-2010, 06:37 PM)vegetapr69 Wrote: Thanks a lot for the photos...it will help us a lot to find the venue^^ although I don't know if by 4-5 AM will tell me the difference lol RE: Roseland Ballroom - chandelierswing - 10-02-2010 I've been to Roseland Ballroom twice to see AFI already. The place is actually a lot bigger than The Filmore (where their gig was last year.) There's definitely a lot of "moshpit-room", so I'm a little intimidated by that. New Yorkers are crazy. Hahaha. It's really spacious, though! There are balcony views, and the VIP seats to the right, which are probably a lot of money. I don't know if people have bought those tickets, though. I'm going to be hanging around near the VIP seats in the middle. Definitely get a good view there. I'm not too worried about it being overcrowded, unless it sells out. And it's a LOT of room. I'm not sure about the camera-policy, because the place is so big. But I can be wrong, so... yeah. I'm still taking my camera though. RE: Roseland Ballroom - Inkcharm - 10-06-2010 Camera policy is directed by the band anyway, not by the venue. There were signs up in LA and SF specifically stating that the band does not want you to take pictures or record video or video files of their concerts. So yeah. Personally I hope the staff will be more strict in enforcing those rules. I checked out the venue today, and yes, lining up will be difficult. One the one side of the venue there is a huge entrance to a parking lot building, on the other side there is the musical thing going on. Across the streets there seem to be a lot of bars and such. What should be possible is lining up just a bit down the street, in front of the blank wall of the cosmic diner. There is a long stretch of basically nothing but black wall there. RE: Roseland Ballroom - vegetapr69 - 10-06-2010 I hope that the staff there realizes that fans will line up to see this concert [I want to think that J though about it in advance and let them know ^^] so we won't have any situations with people waiting to see other shows RE: Roseland Ballroom - chandelierswing - 10-06-2010 I guess what's so wierd about the camera policy, is that it's rarely ever enforced here in the US. We're used to taking videos and pictures aaaaaall the time. xDD But the whole purpose makes a lot of sense. Definitely allows everyone to enjoy the shows. So I'm sure no one's really opposing it when they realize exactly why they're expected to not have anything. Definitely more hassle-free. A lot of us had to line up last year to put our stuff in a store room. :C I can't wait until Saturdaaaay! <3 RE: Roseland Ballroom - cathb - 10-06-2010 (10-06-2010, 09:01 PM)chandelierswing Wrote: I guess what's so wierd about the camera policy, is that it's rarely ever enforced here in the US. There was a fellow at Vegas who stood in line for over an hour to photograph the band for some magazine. He had the permission of the Hard Rock to do so. J came by and saw him and told him no cameras. The fellow explained and J said he was sorry but no cameras were allowed and that was the band's policy....it was not up to the venue to make the decision. RE: Roseland Ballroom - Julnyes - 10-07-2010 RE: Cameras - usually its a No Cameras rule, but its enforced to varying degrees by the venue... New York tends to be a bit more lazy about that I think.. not that I'm recording anything - that would distract me from the show :) The Venue -- yeah its so weirdly placed I actually decided not to camp out this time around ![]() I'll be at the venue at the buttcrack of dawn on Saturday -- see you guys there (and also all the people who will be lining up for X Japan at the same time -- that will be interesting) |
