VAMPS 6th Single "Angel Trip" Guessing Game - Koizumi - 05-12-2010
Since I liked the idea of guessing how the music is gonna look like before we have any clues at all about it, as we did for "Devil Side", what do u think 'bout doin' the same for "Angel Trip"?
Ok, I'll go first 8B
Considering the art, a woman with angel wings... must be the "other side" of the Devil Side. So I'm betting on a ballad, something a lil' more light, but very deep.
Hyde's gone blonde as he did for the Roentgen Stories, when he wrote something with a title quite similar, "Angel's Tale". Might be his 'good boy' side showing up again, and for that a song with a lot of basses, deep vocal with lyrics romantic and dreamy.
Or a mix between the idea of his 'vamp' side and his angel side, fighting inside of him...
Well, I'm REALLY particularly instigated with this title, and CAN'T wait to listen to it!

agree with most o ur thoughts; i dun think itll be a ballad though, like Sweet Dreams was, im expecting it to be somethin similar to Evanescent. Hopefully someone will find the lyrics like last time to give better clues ^^

agree with most of you i think its ballad but not too soft like sweet dream.. more like evanescent with tropical theme video . i have no more clue

I agree on the "other side of devil side" thing maybe something along the lines of time goes by? ^^" Rock yet melodic enchanting vocals and I pray, mostly in Japanese xD.

Strangely, I think it will be a mix between EVANESCENT and SWEET DREAMS, not like one or the other. I'm imagining it being rocky like EVANESCENT and TIME GOES BY, but slower in rhythm like SWEET DREAMS. Maybe, but not likely, it will even be acoustic (or feature at least one acoustic instrument? - I was sort of disappointed in VAMPS LIVE 2008 when I saw that the acoustic guitar bits in TIME GOES BY were replaced by K.A.Z using the higher-pitched strings of an electric guitar; don't get me wrong, the notes were all spot on, but it's just the fact that it was supposed to be acoustic at that part)? In terms of mood, but not in terms of sound, I expect it to feel a bit like L'Arc's Jiyuu e no Shoutai (which is an amazing song simply because it's NOT so amazing, you know?) - Probably as a result of HYDE's blog entry (although I'm trying NOT to cite those as 1) The context was confusing, and 2) It makes it harder to legitimately guess), I expect to have a sad but happy sort of feel like EVERGREEN and PERFECT MOMENT. Like, it has a really sad story, but a the same time it feels sort of happy. You know?
I know this is a bit of a stretch from VAMPS, but I don't expect, or maybe I'm just hoping, there won't be many, if any, girls in it. =x - It's just that HYDE has proven to me many times in the past that a song doesn't NEED to be about the opposite gender for it to be deep and intimate. Referring again to PERFECT MOMENT, it's one of the deepest songs on the FAITH album and has nothing to do with romance. JESUS CHRIST is another example and that is without a doubt my favorite. Even SWEET DREAMS can apply to all types of people (with enough stretching). Anyway, I won't mind at all if it happens to be about some kind of girl, but I'd like lyrics that reflect on something deep and beautiful aside from romance. (OMGOMGOMGOMG THIS AUTOMATICALLY MAKES VAMPKITO EVIL AND SEXIST :L)
It's interesting how we all seem to think it will be a ballad, though. As you can see, I'm not saying it won't, but I was honestly expecting a lot more varied expectations.

I don't think it will be a "sweet dreams" kinda thing either... Something a lil' more similar to "Shallow Sleep" and "The Cape of Storms".
But I trully believe it'll be all english again, as I've said before in another topic.

Would it be spoiling this topic to mention stuff VAMPS said about the song in interviews, not a guess? XD Anyone is interested in knowing what they said? I'll put it in white below, don't read if you wanna keep guessing >o<
In various interviews (VampsTimes vol.4, WHAT's IN? and CD Data, etc) they have described ANGEL TRIP as:
+ mostly Japanese lyrics, some English
+ "invigorating violence"
+ "summery"
+ "bright, upbeat, and catchy! ...But a violent new single"
I think the contrast of bright but also violent is very interesting. From this I don't think it's a ballad though. I believe it's the hyper Kaz piece that Hyde mentioned in his diary before, I think its demo title was PANDA
Seems cool, I'm excited.
