L'Arc~en~Ciel songs... - VAMPS + American Street Team + - 05-12-2009
Ok, so obviously this thread isn't really VAMPS-related, but I just wanted to see what you all think. I was thinking a lot about L'Arc~en~Ciel's songs today. I noticed that my favorite songs tend to consist of songs that were on albums, but were never released as singles. For instance, "LORELEY," "fate," "good-morning Hide," "I'm So Happy," etc...are some of my all-time favorite songs. In fact, I feel they're often under-rated. Which L'Arc~en~Ciel songs do you feel tend to be under-rated (single or not, it doesn't matter which)? Which songs do you like that have never been released as a single? By that, I mean songs that are not listed as a "single" on their official website, for example. AnyVAMPS, like I said before, I was just wondering what you all thought. ;)

), In the Air, taste of Love! all all those dark early years Laruku songs TOT I miss that sound! But my all time favorite is Ibara no Namida, I would Kill for a PV of Ibara, hell I would even try to get cast for the PV

Ha ha ha..."Ibara no namida" is a good song. I also really like "the silver shining" and Yukihiro's remix of "metropolis." ;)

I can't say I'm very well versed in L'Arc songs, I'm sorry to say. I mean I'm a fan but I never really listened to their full discography...
That being said. I have to say that I actually do enjoy their songs that were released as singles more then other songs on the album... I've come to realize, I do like L'Arc singles over albums, as I can't listen to any album all the way through more then once or twice without being bored. |D
I really like "good-morning Hide" and "Metropolis" though
"Pretty Girl" is a guilty pleasure of mine as well. ^^;

ibara no namida is definitely a top contender, and Taste of Love and In the Air. i'd add Blame, Secret Signs just cause i love the way they did it in Kiss Me Deadly ~revenge~ concert. i really want to hear them do No TRuth and Kioku no kakera, true unreleased indies in all their dark glory. i love those plus I'm in Pain. i have too many on my list of wants.
i also "wants" L'Arc to go back and release all of their pre-Light My Fire 1998 concerts on dvd. now that's a BIG want!

I'm sorry for your loss, but I'm glad you found something to help you through it. I have yet to go to Japan. It has been a dream of mine for the past 3 years, but no money, so yeah...That will have to wait a while longer. *lol*

i'm so sorry. that seems to me the hardest thing one can go through. i don't know how Hyde does it, but he has an uncanny ability to be able to express some of mankind's deepest emotions, through the words and sometimes the music, and his delivery as he sings. that's why i love to listen to live versions of the songs, whether L'Arc or solo, even if the quality is off. that emotion still shines through.
In the Air is definitely one of those songs. i may get bopped for this, but Time Goes By has that same flavor for me. I know, VAMPS not L'Arc, but it's release was 1 year after my mom died, and when i heard it that morning, i felt more peace than i had in that whole time. played it for dad, gave him a translation of the lyrics, same for him. he likes Hyde's lyrics a lot. he's 75 and isn't into rock much, but some things, like In the Air and White Feathers, really get to him.
i confess i was a Japanophile before i became an addict of the music. i would dearly love to be able to go spend some time there. alas, funds won't permit for me either.

yeah it was fun i went the a few years ago..... to check out martial arts schools in japan china n korea...... didnt know we could pack so much into so lil time... T.T
