I think that it's inevitable that any single/album that VAMPS releases in the future it will be totally compared with L'Arc...which is a little unfair when it comes to L'Arc no one says "Hey, that was a little VAMPSY/HYDEIST" but that must be something that he is expecting to listen and it won't die anytime soon.
But I DO feel the difference between HYDE, VAMPS and L'Arc...and although most said that Angle Trip sounded L'Arc...I kind of expected from VAMPS, because VAMPS is defying their sound..and I'm kind of seeing where it's going [with the thematic of the songs that is].

Haha, someone should do an experiment on a person that's new to L'Arc and that is slightly oblivious to the solo projects. Mix in some HYDE/VAMPS songs in there and see if they can tell the difference. hahaha
Come to think of it, hyde sings much higher in VAMPS songs and more scratchier in HYDE songs. In L'Arc, he sings pretty normal.

About the difference between VAMPS and HYDE Solo... somebody said it earlier xD It's just a transition, a change of name from when KAZ started actively helping Hyde and participating more and more...
Technically, HYDE ends with Faith, but all of HYDE's songs are still VAMPS. As in, HYDE experienced a change of name into VAMPS because of KAZ's active participation, to have KAZ as an actual figure or part of the band and give him credit, rather than just see him as supporting guitar to the leading vocals of HYDE... do you follow me? xD
But following this line of thought, basically VAMPS is entitled to playing all of HYDE's songs... only they tend to play those in which KAZ started participating and got more involved, get it?
They do from time to time play songs from when KAZ hadn't started playing with HYDE yet, but they are the lesser part of lives because, obviously, VAMPS sort of focuses on those songs that KAZ participated more actively in.
Also, as someone else said, they seem to be playing some of HYDE's songs simply because they are lacking in VAMPS songs, and probably now that BEAST is coming out we'll see less of HYDE era and more of VAMPS during the lives... though they will still probably play something from the time when VAMPS was still only HYDE xDD
And YES, Hyde DID say that they make music thinking of what would sound good live, and not thinking of the CD or the recording stage. He also said that he didn't really like the whole recording part of the songmaking and would much rather just go right into playing lives... but that in order to play lives, first they needed new songs, and for that reason he'd endure the recording process xDD I think I got that from an interview they did on musicJAPANplus or something, if I find it I'll quote it xDD

I'd just like to clarify two things that people might be misunderstanding.
1) Even during the HYDE solo era, the songs were still made with the live in mind, hence the lyrics to songs like FAITH might not make seem random and senseless unless you saw it live.
2) Even though HYDE is credited for writing all the songs in 666, K.A.Z co-wrote and co-produced all of them.
And yes, the writing and recording of songs is just the most god awful, most HORRIBLE part for a musician, so I don't blame HYDE at all for saying it. But it's very satisfying when it comes out right.

I don't understand everything, but I also have the impression that there is some melancholy in it. And meanwhile, after listening to it a few times, trying to forget the tight categories I sometimes think in... I love the song

Yeah the lyrics have a kind of bittersweet take on it. I get the feeling he's singing about someone he cares about who he'll never see again...but until I get official lyrics in my mittens I don't want to try to attempt the translation :/

WOW! Hello, controversy!
Honestly, I love L'arc~en~Ciel more than I love VAMPS. L'arc is my favorite band.
I didn't like SEX,BLOOD,R&R or HUNTING when I first listened to them, I thought: that's gotta be a joke... those didn't come from the same man that wrote FLOWER... but I came to terms with it, and learned that SEX,BLOOD,R&R and HUNTING were cool songs that could be incredibly fun, addictive, and great to be played live... so... I love this song because I love VAMPS... and the song is awesome too LOL
