I think he looks great on every look! even when he was ash blonde. I think he looks a little weird to us on that style beause he looks almost like a "normal average man" It is weird seeing him with a traditional hairdo. But his visage is the same... just like his talent :D

so, you FINALLY found the really good stuff, eh? Tierra is my fave album of all, but it was those 1st 4 albums that made me a laruku nut in the 1st place. while most everyone on here has been listening and watching HYDE's/VAMPS' stuff, i've been digging into as many old concerts as i can, especially the real Indies stuff of 91 and 92 and their year on Danger Crue, 93. it really does sound like a different band. even the way hyde sang, though in some ways he's starting to sound more like he did back in the beginning than he has for a very long time.
btw, ken once said that the 1st recording they did of VOICE for the anthology album GIMMICK sounded like Metallica. of course, he, hyde and tetsu all claimed their 1st influences were "heavy metal". ^ ^
i'll let you have Wind of Gold as Shakira. have you ever seen the small clips in the Sense of Time footage of them getting ready to perform that, with the whole "atmosphere" defined by ken on one side sitting, tetsu sitting on the other with hyde standing beside and his hand on tetsu's shoulder? woh! i've only found a full performance of that in the Other Side of Heavenly show. not with the "atmospheric" enhancements.
yay for download helper and its conversion tool too!! my favorite "snagging" tool. XD freecorder is a pretty good thing too, for those of us not blessed with the know-how for ripping things and cutting them out. XP i'm gonna check out your new goodies. don't be a stranger, Bill lad!
edit: so you found Unfinished Demo 7? you can compare I'm in Pain to the version they did in 2006 15th L'Anniversary. that's the song they claimed only a handful of the audience even knew. and i LOVE No Truth!!! but when you go find the lyrics for some of those songs, i promise you that some of the "engrish" bits are so far off it isn't funny. or maybe after years of listening to hyde mess around with english in highly creative manners it's easier to decipher than years back. there used to be a different link for that demo. there was also a download link that worked. but the file has moved around a bit over the last couple of years.
here's a link to a good lyric site that does have those mysterious indie songs too. plus kanji, romaji and english for most things. sometimes there are some discrepancies if you listen closely, but it would probably boil down to different readings of a particular kanji and not realizing it doesn't match what was sung.

Yeah, I'm really digging the remastered Dune. Floods of Tears is my favorite song on the album so far (though the single version is awful).
I like it when Hyde talks into my left ear, all creepy-like. It makes my brain feel funny. Yet another reason why Inner Core is a great song. It's too bad he doesn't do that anymore.
If you don't regularly listen to them with headphones, it's a good habit to take up.

*lol* Listening to L'Arc with headphones is an amazing musical experience. ;) I want to try listening to them with Bose headphones and see if there's a difference... "Shutting from the Sky" and "Voice" are two of my fave songs on Dune.

headphones really are great with L'Arc's old stuff. i like your choices a lot myself, Heather. Dune is an excellent album altogether. who would believe it was a 1st for them? it's better than some great bands ever put out imho. i am very biased. lol
and Bill, i get what you're saying about Hyde's gibberish in your ear. and not just on Inner Core.

Yeah I'm pretty sure he at least does it on Be Destined too. I also love that song. I've been wearing Dune out.
Ken used to wail back then, didn't he? Quite the noodler. They were almost like a jam band on some songs, like Floods of Tears where they're getting all crazy in that one instrumental part.

actually as i was writing that earlier reply i was warbling a bit of BeDestined. ^^ but yeah, when ken joined the guitar noodling percentage seems to have increased considerably. i still like the extended "jam" version of Taste of Love they performed during the heavenly tour and the best one was Kiss Me Deadly~revenge~ some 9 minutes of that lovely bass-line, and everyone else woodling away.
their sound really changed when they got into the Ki:oon studios with all the synthesizers and stuff. one thing i liked about early lives was they sounded like lives i was used to hearing growing up, not like a perfect rendition of the album cut, even down to back-up vocal tracks. i guess that's me showing my age coming from the days of wild 70s music festivals. heheh

I'm just glad they seem to have let us earn money at least this month. I'll have time to save until January and then give me Vamps DVD T_T I just wish they had the NY show as well. Many would buy it right away!

And I wanted a Baltimore DVD... but the SONAR show is so neglected. =(
