I find it a bit disrespectful to HYDE since its really obvious he doesn't like any of his personal information to be known. Even in HYDEIST this is a big no no and whenever someone says Happy Birthday to him it's almost immediately deleted.

I just feel as fans we should respect his privacy more but yeah that's just my opinion.

Are we allowed to say "Good Morning, Hyde"? Icon_blaugh

Nevermind.....I don't do the thing like that.

me either. XDXDXD

kudos.

I think the reason it is deleted from HYDEIST is because of how spammish it is to have threads of something that will be duplicated a million times over. On more active boards, the problem of people posting the same thread and message a thousand times over is a real problem, so to prevent that, they taboo certain subjects that will result in numerous duplicate threads and messages.

I will give you that HYDE doesn't and never has liked to talk about his age. Funny thing, I've never known HYDE to enjoy talking about himself much in general. When the conversation becomes about the music or the tour, you can see him getting pumped into the convo, but when it becomes about his personal life, he always seems a bit bored and annoyed.

Reference win!

Hahahaha thanks!

As for Hyde talking about himself, watch this stalkerish reporter make him visibly uncomfortable:

This is a great interview and it really makes it clear why Hyde comes to America even though he's not a million selling act here.

i think it is perfectly reasonable for hyde to be uncomfortable with that reporters' questions. the way she kept coming back to his looks would make anyone feel weird.

i didn't really take the time to rewatch the 2 bits as i have seen them many times. but it's great of you, Bill, to post links for those who might not have watched. i was always impressed and amused by tetsu's confessions about checking music stores back in early days. dedication, L'Arc has always had it. ^ ^

Oh lol, suddenly I hate that interviewer, but but it DOES answer the question I've always wondered.

"To be able to do what I love and be commented on it is all I want in life." Just one of the many reasons I love HYDE so much.

I loved the this interview because he managed to change the subject to something more important.

I enjoyed this interview too. One of many reasons why I love L'Arc~en~Ciel. Being together for so many years and not letting fame mess them up really makes me respect them.

I will never classify them as Visual Kei. It pains me to see little girls here in America drool over Japanese guys with make up and looking like chicks makes me sick. Like, what about their music? Anyway, I digress.

in terms of birthday, pains me to see the man grow old. T-T

Oohhhhhh.....I am duct-taping my fingers together so I cannot type as I could say so much to this......lol.

Why? He's a vampire. Growing old means nothing to him =P

In all seriousness, though, I actually don't care about him getting old physically, but it would eternally depress me to see him getting older MENTALLY. But knowing HYDE, I don't think that's too big of a possibility.

I think that HYDE has an exquisite mixture of innocence and maturity. In interviews and in his songs he is very deep in his thoughts/feelings. And sometimes he lets out his innocence when 'odd' things happen...which are funny at the same time ^^

That's ANOTHER reason that I love and follow HYDE's music.

Actually, that's what I've always thought about him as well. He has the wisdom of a 41-year-old, but the heart of a child and I love that for him. What I meant was that I don't want him to lose that said heart of a child, or otherwise become one of those annoying, uptight type of adults. (Which I think is something that's always been wrong with the world: We grow up too much) But again, knowing HYDE that shouldn't be too big of a worry.

You do not have the choice in growing old.....you do have the choice if you want to grow up or not.
