RE: So how'd it go? - celeste_ - 07-20-2009 The crowd was great, at least where I was. There was some very annoying pushing to be front and center, but I didn't see any moshing, and only one crowd surfer who got plucked out pretty quickly. RE: So how'd it go? - glamorousdreamer - 07-20-2009 When I seen this thread's title, I just immediately think of Iago from Disney's Aladdin. Anyone know what scene I'm talking about? ...Anyways, dude sounds like it was awesome. I'm getting more and more excited for the SF LIVE the more I read. LOL HYDE sleeve ripped, what he rockin' out that hardcore?! *haha* RE: So how'd it go? - youngsango13 - 07-20-2009 thanks for all of these reports! i'm getting more and more excited for las vegas! RE: So how'd it go? - moo - 07-20-2009 Hey, so this has been bothering me the whooolllllleeeeeeeeee day. Did they play MADE IN HEAVEN somewhere in the beginning or am I just making it up? lol During the ride home, me and my friend were assembling the setlist and she insisted she heard MADE IN HEAVEN. Granted, she's new to HYDE b/c I introduced it to her, but I also feel like I did hear the intro guitar part but maybe I'm just getting it mixed up with IT'S SAD... or...... I dunno... Does anybody remember who went last night?? I just need to get this resolved or else I will go insane hahahaha. I think there as some bits and pieces of MADE IN HEAVE and IT'S SAD that are a little similar that we might've thought we heard it. I just looked at the New York Official Setlist, and realized that they are pretty much the same except for the last chunk before the encore. haha. They played HUNTING, HELLO, TROUBLE, and HIDEAWAY in NY but they played HUNTING, HIDEAWAY, TROUBLE, and LUCY~. So i'm thinking what I wrote is right now :) Oh hey, and do you remember what song Ju-ken did his robot dance? He did it while he was on K.A.Z's side, because he was standing right in front of me when he did it but I can't remember which song he did it at... RE: So how'd it go? - melissa - 07-20-2009 I don't have much of a report, but my friend, who is a huge music lover, couldn't stop praising VAMPS and the Seattle crowd after the show. He really enjoyed the show, and said that it's the 2nd best show he's seen ever, 2nd to one of the Muse shows he's been to. He also thought that the crowd was wonderful, that people were really energetic and showed great support for the band. No druggies, no alccies, just a crowd who's purely enjoying the music. Personally, I actually enjoyed this show more than the show at Zepp Tokyo that I attended last year. The venue is WAY smaller, so even if you were to stand at the back, the stage was still really close. My friend and I were fortunate enough to get to the middle of the crowd, but because I am rather short, I had to peek my head this way and that, or jump a lot, to see anything. Hopefully that didn't piss off anybody behind me. There actually weren't too much pushing and shoving. The crowd was a lot of fun, but in a tame, mannered way. I remember Hyde doing his crazy finger-swirling thing and pointing to his head like he always does. The tongue-swirling thing as well. And he said they'd be back soon, and I hope he keeps his promise. =) K.A.Z. splashed water at the crowd at the end and the water went down my shirt. Yeah, the crowd was so hot that we needed the cool down. Ju-ken was awesome the entire night, as he is always, and did a great job pumping up the crowd. And no, I don't think they played MADE IN HEAVEN. I don't remember hearing it either. As for the meet and greet, I asked my friend to go first coz I wanted an extra 5 seconds to drool at VAMPS while they were signing my friend's magazine. They were both very, very friendly, all smiles. I went up to K.A.Z. first, and while he was signing my VAMPS album, I asked him to come to Canada next time (in Japanese), and then he smiled at me and repeated "Canada?" and then I nodded and smiled. After I shook his hand I was already at freaking out point. I then moved over to where Hyde was, and I was just at a loss for words. I was like, again in Japanese, "I....come from Canada......." He grinned at me and said "Hai, thanks," shook my hand, and then I heard him whispering "Wow..." or "Whoa..." or something close to that. I'm hoping he's just happy about where all the fans are from, and not "wow" because he thinks my Japanese sucks... =P RE: So how'd it go? - Mme. H - 07-21-2009 ~ I realize this is going to be a hyperbolic review. Well, when you see them, you tell me how to describe it in any milder tems. ~ Just sheer peak performance Absolute focus, incredible energy, the power of complete unison. You were all amazing, amazing! It’s the watermark for a world-class performance. The energy just built and built. The encore was insanity. hyde wrung his heart out, and poured it to us. He just opens up and goes into a state of passion that is beauty, itself. I cannot say how pure the performance was. He sang full out like this, the entire performance. Whereas that’s thrilling enough, for one song, how is it possible his voice, his energy can bring it to that level, for an hour and a half? I wholly agree with those others during this tour, who have used the word, “perfect.” He wore a knee-length, tapered jacket that looked like thin, woven silk, with a steely sheen to it that changed color with the lights. The jacket was unbuttoned to the waist, and there was a tattered scarf of dark material just lining the inner rim of the jacket’s neckline. I tell you about his fashion in loving detail, so that you can appreciate that it was a picture, hyde in motion, in it. Dervish hyde danced and spun and made its tails fly, until he began to rock his way out of it! Well, he ripped out the back of an armhole seam, but it’s a beginning! K.A.Z = Masterful. Whereas he tends to seem the introverted one in interviews and photo shoots, when he gets a guitar in his hands, it is power! It’s sexy, oh yes, when he plants his feet and starts in. He’s just charged with electric energy. When K.A.Z looks at the audience while playing, and you can see he knows it’s his world, now, and he’s putting it to us, and sometimes he gets this little smile on his face…it reminds one of that remark he made, “The audience was delicious.” Ju-ken, I’m developing this theory that your energy is actually capable of spontaneous healing. You could say Ju-ken likes to keep busy. And also that the universe is kinda big. As he apparently feels he doesn’t have enough to do onstage, being the power bassist of choice for Japan’s premiere rock bands, Ju-ken has taken to simultaneously pimping the songs and the members of the band – uh, including himself - , oh, and dancing like he’s about to leave the ground, all while he solidly rocks the Hell out of us. Rockin’ the fashion, too, handsome Ju-ken. Ari…Sexy thing! Drumming so hot, it could almost distract you entirely from just watching him, all muscles working furiously and long hair falling into his face. Ari’s attitude was pleasingly cocky. Tipping his chin up at the audience, strutting offstage, deciding to toss a memento into the crowd, at the last minute. I say it again – that drumming is Hot! Jin seems to prefer to work the magic from a dark quarter of the stage…perhaps his night-dwelling eyes cannot abide the bright light. Or maybe he is refining his stealth, for the hunt. His deft touch so sweetens the music. Beautiful. I am too weak from two days in a row of VAMPS, to continue at this moment. In an open letter to VAMPS, ~~~ I’m in awe and I love you. |
