And then taking an Amtrak train to LA from San Diego is cheap too. Around $34.00 or so. Yup!!! That's right!!! the Amtrak rules! you have to plan your trip, though, because it doesn't always departs at the same hour and some days after a certain hour there are not any more departures... in fact I will take the Amtrak Train to LA as soon as possible after SOMA show :-D Anyone else planning to? maybe we could all make that mini-trip together? I'm not sure exactly what day we are leaving yet though. RE: 5 hours from Vegas, 2 hours from LA - Usagi Hoshino - 04-12-2009 I have a friend driving 4 of us to San diego and then back right after the concert ^^" all we had to do was buy him a concert ticket (that divided in 4 is really cheap!) SUPER COOL!! :-D I would like to get to Los Angeles ASAP, I went once for a Nightwish gig and arrived late because the trains malfunctioned @_@ I became a little paranoid X-D I plan to travel on July the 30th, this are some of the the possibilities: http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv184/VAMPS_MST/amtrakjuly30.jpg ...but only from the Station at Kettner 1050. Trains can be taken from Old Town Station only on weekends, that'd mean saturday august 1st, so it's better to take the blue trolley line on a quick trip http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv184/VAMPS_MST/OLDTOWNtoAMTRAK.jpg This is the map of the 3 lines. http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv184/VAMPS_MST/MTS.jpg I know probably from USA guys this is repetitive, but for people like me coming from another country this is absolutely necessary X-D Well, Tracy Coder, we could talk before the 29th venue (we will all be cooperating with you, ideally ;-D) and then plan if we are going together, we have plenty of time, right? n_n RE: 5 hours from Vegas, 2 hours from LA - Usagi Hoshino - 04-12-2009 I agree with planning being a must for us foreign fans! I use google maps, and google docs to keep my budget (that keeps rising sadly ._.) What is a good hotel zone in San diego? I mean not by the beach like a resort, but also not a dump. |
