RE: NYC information - vegetapr69 - 05-08-2010 Here's the address of the closest hotel to the Roseland Ballroom: Novotel New York Times Square, 226 West 52nd Street, New York, NY 10019 I don't know the price of it, but it's like three meters from the location. RE: NYC information - chibikitsune - 05-08-2010 Thanks so much ![]() RE: NYC information - Usagi Hoshino - 05-09-2010 It's uber expensive around 299 USD per night xox! Ty though ^^! RE: NYC information - vegetapr69 - 05-09-2010 Here are three other hotels that are close to the Roseland Ballroom. Remember that the closer to a venue the more expensive. My hotel [already made my reservations]it's like 1/2 an hour from it by taxi, but still I was worth it. The hotel with the flight tickets cost me $400 so yeah. Hampton Inn Manhattan-Times Square North 851 Eighth Avenue, New York, New York, USA 10019 Tel: 1-212-581-4100 Fax: 1-212-974-7502 The Mayfair New York Hotel 242 West 49th St New York, New York 10019 212.586.0300 Washington Jefferson Hotel LLP 318 W 51st St, New York, NY 10019 (212) 246-7550 By the way, I was planning to either buy the NYC anime con tickets or the NYC pass since I'll be there for 4 days. But it will be VERY helpful to know if VAMPS will be at the convention like last year's anime con. DOes anyone know this? RE: NYC information - vegetapr69 - 05-17-2010 Does anyone know how the seating goes on the venue? It's by order of arrival or what? RE: NYC information - missykitty - 05-18-2010 Be aware that taxi's can get very pricey in the city too, and they will probably try to take advantage of tourists. @ _ @ Seriously, subway is the way to go. hopstop.com will help you get from point A to point B with the subway, and it's $2.25 no matter what distance you go, as opposed to a taxi that can easily run you $20-30+ if you aren't careful. Midtown, anywhere around 35th-50th streets will be expensive. Times Square is 42nd Street, so avoid finding a hotel there, as prices will be more. Look around, look further for hotels, there are some cheap ones if you aren't in midtown. As stated above, obviously no cameras. This is nothing new for a Jrock concert. Assume no water bottles either, as that is a usual policy. Don't try and bring any in, safe yourself the trouble. From what I know of the venue, it's general admission, there is a balcony like thing around, which seems pretty nice... I need to go to a concert there BEFORE October to scope out the venue, and if I do, I'll get back to you on that. I assume lining up early will not be a problem. Keep in mind this is a 3,000+ capacity venue. People will be in line early. I guess only time will tell if VAMPS do something with NYAF. Decisions decisions...NYAF or the line....**crosses fingers to see the NYAF event the day BEFORE of the concert** RE: NYC information - missykitty - 05-21-2010 (05-19-2010, 05:23 PM)vegetapr69 Wrote: Decisions decisions...NYAF or the line....**crosses fingers to see the NYAF event the day BEFORE of the concert** I think that'll be the decision for quite a few people. xD I'm just hoping that won't result in line jumping... i.e. one person from a group is in line, and 3 goes to NYAF - those 3 come back later and assume they can just get in line. Um, I'm sorry, I am going to put my foot down and not allow that if I see it happening - either you wait in line, or go to NYAF - you can't have both (unless, like I said, I feel like VAMPS will do something with the con... time will tell, we shall see, but I'm just hoping it won't turn out to be a problem.) Last year in Baltimore when they did something with Otakon, that was AFTER the concert, didn't interfere with the line. :/ RE: NYC information - vegetapr69 - 05-29-2010 Okay everyone...I've got the more hotels that are close to the Venue, although I recommend the ones that are cheap, but taxi/bus/subway needed to get there. Here are some of them, and check them out on sites like orbitz.com and cheaptickets.com that have the best prices compared to the ones on the same hotel's websites. Wellington Hotel 871 Seventh Ave. @ 55th St., 55th Street, New York, NY 10019 Hotel Info: 1-888-221-3856 Hotel Pennsylvania 401 7th Avenue, New York City, NY 10001 Hotel Info: 1-877-291-5074 Broadway Plaza Hotel 1155 Broadway, New York, NY 10001 Hotel Info: 1-877-291-5072 I'll post the same information on the Spanish version of this section, just in case. Driving, finding parking, etc.. in New York is just a pointless hassle.I second this. Definitely don't drive to the venue in New York City. You can take the D and E trains which will take you to Seventh Avenue on 53rd street. They are the closest subway trains to the venue which is on 52nd street and seventh avenue. They should run smoothly during the weekend, but I can't promise they won't randomly decide to skip a street. ;D If that doesn't float your boat, take a taxi. Depending on how close your hotel is from the venue (like 10 or so streets or avenues away) it could be as cheap as 6 dollars. Don't take the black taxis -- just the yellow ones. Taxis aren't as expensive as everyone claims if you use them correctly. |
