One question: how offensive is it to wear reversed peace sign tee in the U.S.? I'm currently living mainly in L.A. and friends I met here so far told me that it is rude to make the reversed peace sign. But I really like this new T-shirt and wanna have one. But if I have one, I'm gonna wear it in L.A. and I want to understand if it's ok to do so or I have to be careful about it...

Really appreciate your advice :) Thanks

One thing about America.....no matter what you do, you are gonna offend someone. Icon_3nodding If you like it, get it. If you want to wear it, do so..... Just my opinion.
Thanks.

I'm gonna get it anyway if I really like it, but just want to know what is the common sense, so that I can be aware of it.

This is true. When I was 12 I went through a phase where I considered converting to Judaism and I had a very pretty Star of David that I had bought at a shop in Cordoba, Spain around that time. Well I never did convert to Judaism, but I always wear that necklace during Hannukah just because I like to pay homage to the Jewish faith at that time and I got crap for it from some kid I went to school with. The school I went to at the time had a very large and seriously Christian base. So sometimes even wearing something that's not meant to be offensive will offend someone haha.

On a side note I had a dream last night that my friend and I found the Beast Tour shirts in a store but that they didn't have my size. I hate that lol

Quoted for truth. I guess that's a result of the diversity of the nation. Everyone wants the country to run based on their beliefs/heritage/whatever else, but there's yet millions of others of completely different backgrounds who likewise want the country to run on THEIR ideals. My father, for example, is strong in his belief system and also strongly believes that he and people who agree with his system should not be held under the same moral code as people who don't believe. As a result, it offends him when someone who does believe in the same system is prosecuted or otherwise treated like they belong in a (dun, dun, duuuuuun) orderly society. (Of course, that's not the wording he uses, but in a nutshell, that is how he thinks!)

Story of my life. @3@ - Without trying to make this topic completely about religion, in my area, the majority of people are strong Christians (or at least that's what they call it; I've yet to see one of them actually reading a Bible, let alone abiding by it BUT that is a rant for a different time and a different place!), so people often find it offensive that I look like a blatant homosexual um... very feminine, flamboyant male WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY wearing cross jewelry and other religious symbols. So if that's not enough to set them off, imagine the rage that ensues when I tell them that the cross represents fashion as opposed to any sort of personal conviction.

But enough about that! I don't wish to cause a horrible flame war or anything, so yeah.

Story of my mother fucking life.
Thank you for sharing your personal stories.
I realized from your comments that this is not simply the matter of following common sense. So I should be aware of no matter what my intention is, wearing this T-shirt could offend someone.

Thanks for serious and sincere comments.

harumi> hope you can buy your size!

Oh you're all good. I had similar pain before I went to University. I've lived all over the world, but the only time I ever had culture shock was when I moved from Japan to Missouri. But that's a long, ranting story in and of itself. Whew boy -.-

To keep the thread on topic (lol) I hope we can get decent shirts at all when they come here. For anyone who went to the lives last year did they sell decent crap? I think I remember someone saying earlier that it wasn't good quality stuff? I just want a cool shirt at the very least :/

The shirts weren't at all "crap" but in comparison to the Japanese t-shirts, they were pretty mediocre. All they had was the VAMPS lip logo from the first album on a black background with the tour dates on the back. It looked more like something that you would use to promote a club or (junior) high school sports team as opposed to a rock band.

To be perfectly fair, though, the Japanese shirts weren't exactly "fantastic" either. Not like the FAITH or 666 merchandise, but there was definitely a lot more thought and effort in terms of design and content.

EDIT - Oh damn it. =X - Okay, not to sound particularly bitchy and I know we've gone through this a thousand times, but...

Look at the back. What do you see?

Yeah.

Way to keep it work/school-appropriate, guys. :C

Lol.....yeah, you would definitely have to wear a vest/sweater with that here unless you are just out and about. That would be grounds for dismissal in many work areas.

Hahaha I didn't even think about that. Well I'd probably still wear mine to work anyway because I can think of a way to get around it. Nurses have to wear blue scrub bottoms with white tops at my work...it's kind of annoying. But I've managed to still look like an individual because I wear button up tops open so I can show any tshirt or tank top I'm wearing underneath...my scrub top still covers the back though so I'd be ok to wear this shirt Icon_twisted

Very clever!!! I like that shirt... I'd love the black to be Black Foil, the kind that shines lilac or green depending on the light source, or maybe flock... with puff-ink for the nails * w*
