Admittedly, that's what I think, too. It's just that the name "BEAST" has so many different connotations. I mean, maybe if they called it "THE BEAST" it would just be one extra word added, but it'd give off a much different feel. But just "BEAST" feels empty, in my opinion. It's like calling a song "BLOOD" ... liek, what about blood? I mean, blood can have so many different feelings. Blood as in the things that family members share? Blood as in the things that vampires suck? Blood as in the blood shed that brought about American independence? It just doesn't provide any sort of feel. But if you add something like "BLOOD RED" it instantly makes you think of something dark and violent.

Don't get me wrong, FAITH and 666 are both extremely vague names as well, but they have a sense of mystery to them BECAUSE of it.

It could be a cultural difference thingy. My knowledge of Japanese is EXTREMELY limited but I believe that the articles a, an, and the do not exist. Therefore, while Hyde is using an English word, his mind is still thinking in Japanese. So dropping what seems natural to us, the word "the", seems natural to him.

But then I could be all wet. Water on the brain from listening to too much VAMPS. :)

I believe you are right. I remember hearing something of the sort, too. But HYDE puts so much thought and effort into the English lyrics, so I don't see why I can't do the same with the album name. But for all we know, the album could refer to something completely different. Maybe VAMPS will yet again surprise me. I mean, it's not a bad name at all. It just feels sort of empty to me. But I'm still really anticipating the new album and currently over-excited in my wait.
I think that Hyde likes giving albums one keyword as a title, one word that sums it up.
It's probably on purpose that every single original album he has ever released was one word (ok, except 666 but that's a number it doesn't count :P)

Referring back to 666 and FAITH, the names had this mysterious feel to them. With BEAST, it feels... just... I dunno. I just don't feel anything with the name =x - Just my opinion. It doesn't really matter, but I still wish the name could have been something a tad more interesting. Either way, I'm just glad to finally be able to say "the BEAST tour" instead of "the 2009 tour" or "the 2008 tour" as that becomes extremely irritating after awhile =P

I think all that's been said about the album title has it's points to it. Part of me agrees, and thinks you're right in that titles like FAITH and 666 just seem to be more powerful, but I think it's because of what we associate those words with.

I think BEAST can have a lot of meaning too, depending on how you look at it. With singles like "Devil Side" and "Angel Trip", and depending what other song titles are, I feel like this album may be more "serious" as opposed to their self titled album which had songs all relating to vampires and blood. I'm curious to see where this goes and if we do get an explanation, or if we just make up our own ideas of what we think it means.
beast is a good album name IMO
It could be entitled "UNTITLED" for all I care if the album is good... and I believe it will be :-D

I think everyone is reading into the name of the album too early in the game. "BEAST" can in fact have a deeper meaning, if that's what you're looking for. Or, it might not. Either way, they've really only released one single thus far, and have the second in the making, so it is still possible that "BEAST" fits the theme of the album. And even if it doesn't, who cares? It wouldn't be the first time HYDE/VAMPS did something or created something that didn't make sense or that someone in the world of music created an album that had a title that didn't make sense. I guess we'll just have to see what the tracklisting will be in order to get a better idea.
Have you seen the picture on VAMPS official website? Well, according to japan-discoveries.com the cover will look like this. -->http://japan-discoveries.com/index.php?m...ts_id=2286

It seems that this will be the picture of the album...now I wonder how the poster that CD-Japan is giving how it will look like...

IDK, maybe that is just an image from the band? They use to do stuff like that, posting a picture of the band if a cover is not yet available, just so you know who they are talking about, but that picture looks a lot like a cover... I'd love that as a poster!

I think that's just a placeholder image, not the actual cover art. Just like CD Japan has an image placeholder with the picture of HYDE being licked by a girl while K.A.Z looks away in a traumatized state as if to say, "You hired a hooker for the photoshoot and didn't even get one for me?! That's it, HYDE, honey darling sweetie and other generic pet names, I'm not speaking to you for the rest of the day!"

(Speaking of Japan Discoveries, though, anyone else see that advert at the side that says "VAMPS "BEAST" 3500 Yen 3300 YEN!" WOW! A WHOLE 200 YEN (approx. 2 USD) OFF! WHAT A DEAL!)
