I decided to make this threat because this is the show that I have planned to attend this time since last year I went to LA [Wiltern]

I hadn't been in NYC since 2004, so I guess that the city changed A LOT, so if anyone resident in this city/area can give me and other fans who are visiting during these dates basic but important information for us, it would be great.

For example:

-How much extra $$ you think we should have for those 3-4 day stay
-if it's worthy or not to rent a car
-ways that we can/can't the day of the concert
-etc

And...

For those fans outside of the US who are planning to go to this concert...you can also buy the tickets on http://www.cheaptickets.com along with the hotel + flight...although you'll save more by buying them directly on http://www.ticketmaster.com because the insurance is not obligated.
I would love to find out everyone's suggestions regarding the cheapest/closest hotels near the venue. Icon_heart
My main suggestion is to not rent a car. Driving, finding parking, etc.. in New York is just a pointless hassle.

The venue is smack dab in the middle of a bunch of train lines. Public transportation is the way to go.

It is a pretty expensive area with a lot of tourist traffic around, so I hope people will pop in with suggestions for hotels that won't break the bank nearby. I live here, so I have no hotel knowledge to speak of, sorry.

What do you mean by ways that we can / can't the day of the concert?
Sorry for my grammar on that part...but I was trying to say was that if anyone knows if the venue will have restrictions about people making the line too early or stuff like that.

In m case I booked my hotel/flight with http://www.cheaptickets.com for 4 days [otcotber 8-11] and I'll be staying on a hotel that is like 10 minutes in taxi for less than $500, so I don't know if that's what you mean with that.

1. DO NOT rent a car. Not worth it. The best transportation system in NYC is the subway or the bus. If you don't like public transportation, just get a taxi.
2. It depends if you want to go shopping and stuff. And how many people are the "we?" Food prices ranges. If you want cheap food, you can opt for fast food like McDonalds. If you want expensive food, there are fancy restaurant everywhere. (You can find Friday's, Applebees. etc..) NYC basically has any kind of food you want, you just need to know where.
3. For the concert, I'm pretty sure the NO cameras, video recorders, etc applies. Not sure about the No water policy for this venue.

I don't know much about hotels since I live in NYC haha. Sorry.

Good luck ;)

That's one thing that I would LOVE to know. Last year I went to LA @ the Wiltern and they didn't allowed me to enter with my bottled water, and ended up buying one inside that costed me $4!!!! That's a steal!!
Ah that is a shame about cameras. I was wanting to photograph the concert... In fact I've been trying to find out who represents them in the US so I can maybe try to get a press pass to photograph the show for my photo blog... Does anyone know? =\
Well, I think J is the one who works everything related to the US tour...and I think that he has an account in this forum...but I think that you can contact him through the OFFICIAL facebook group

At first I hated the no camera policy, but after watching their DVDs, I know why they enforced it.

First, they're most likely to record the concert for DVD footage. If they allow people to record it, then people won't bother buying the DVD.
Secondly, the flashes on cameras are SO annoying. Whether it be at the concert venue or on the DVD. In the USA DVD, you see so many camera lights that it distracts the performance.

You can try asking, but I highly doubt they'll let you. Good Luck.

Oh I definitely understand the no camera policy! Although I do think that if someone is using flash when photographing a concert, then they don't know what they're doing. ^^'
I'll try asking anyway, thanks guys.

I'm still interested in finding out what the closest/cheapest hotels to the venue are =O
