so I know we all prefer original songs; but I have to say I like a good cover song too. I like to see how an artist can take a song I already like and spin it their way to make it something new and, maybe not improved, but still very, very enjoyable. Some good cover songs by jrockers...

Vamps - Life on Mars? by David Bowie
Abingdon Boys School - Dress by Buck-Tick

...to name a few. SO... if Vamps did any more covers... have any suggestions?

One song I heard tonight when skimming through some old CD's I used to listen to a lot 10 years ago heh... This kinda sounds like a song I think Vamps/Hyde would cover really really awesomely.

Depeche Mode. I'd love to see VAMPS cover "Enjoy the Silence" or "Personal Jesus." "Space Age Love Song" by A Flock of Seagulls would be an interesting cover too...

Oo, those would be great! I'd personally love to hear some covers of Tears for Fears (I adore TFF). Perhaps "All of the Angels" (which is the first audio file listed here) or "Quiet Ones" (this AMV is the only thing I can find where you can hear it).

And I know Hyde already did a Beatles cover, but "Eleanor Rigby" would be interesting to hear, I think.
^ Eleanor Rigby might be a good one.

btw, found this LINK. It has the lyrics. I just think Vamps would do a great cover of this one.

Yeah! Tears for Fears would be awesome! Their "Shout" video kinda' reminds me of HYDE's "The Cape of Storms" PV. "Head Over Heels" would be a cool cover. Maybe even a little Aerosmith: "Sweet Emotion," "Livin' on the Edge," or even "Jaded." Hmm...let's see what else...*browses iTunes library*

Hmm...maybe:

"Knockin' on Heaven's Door" - Guns 'n Roses

"I Love Rock 'n Roll" - Joan Jett & The Blackhearts (It'd be really interesting to see what they'd come up with for that one)

"A Touch of Evil" - Judas Priest

"Live and Let Die" - Paul McCartney

"When Doves Cry" - Prince

"We Will Rock You" or "Fat Bottomed Girls" - Queen

"Cum on Feel the Noize" - Quiet Riot

"Manic Monday" - The Bangels (Ha ha...I can just picture K.A.Z singing backup vocals, "Oooh, oooh.." while HYDE's singing, "I wish it were Sunday, 'cause that's my fun day...")

"Alien Nation" or "Big City Nights" - Scorpions

"Perry Mason," "Hellraiser," or "Back on Earth" - Ozzy Osbourne

"If You Leave" - Orchestral Manoeuvors in the Dark (O.M.D)

"The Mission" or "Breaking the Silence" - Queensryche

"(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" - The Rolling Stones

"18 and Life" - Skid Row

"(Don't You) Forget About Me" - Simple Minds

"How Soon Is Now" - The Smiths

"Tainted Love" - Soft Cell (It's been done a billion times, but I'd like to hear it with a VAMPS twist)

"Shout" or "Head Over Heels (Broken)" - Tears for Fears

"Running with the Devil" - Van Halen

"Here I Go Again" - Whitesnake

"The Promise" - When In Rome

"Rock the Casbah" - The Clash

"Pour Some Sugar on Me," "Armageddon It," "Women," or "Love Bites" - Def Leppard

"Come Undone," "Rio," "Ordinary World," or "Hungry Like The Wolf" - Duran Duran

"Heartbreak Hotel" - Elvis

"Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" - Eurythmics (Again, this has also been done a billion times, but I'd like to hear it with a VAMPS twist)

Ok, that's my super-long list. *lol* I'm dying to hear a VAMPS cover of a Def Leppard song though...

Oh, yes! I would LOVE to hear VAMPS do "Gods of War"!

You have excellent taste in music, btw! Icon_3nodding

I was actually going to suggest this too but couldn't think of the band name. I think Hyde/Vamps could pull this one off.

Ha ha ha...thanks. ;) I didn't have much of a choice, though. I grew up listening to that kind of music.

a lot of those would be nifty. however... to give you an idea of what a cople of those listed choices might sound like...

L'Arc did a cover of "I Love Rock and Roll" last year as an ad for Pepsi Nex(t). i think it was released on the internet maybe. there was a cm and an interview and another clip with 2 other Japanese acts than were cobering other songs. i forget who/what. they are probably on YT. i think all of the L'Arc bits are. i quickly found this clip of the full song to a mix of the cm and interview/making clips, tell me what you think. lol the lyrics which hyde didn't change at all. heheheh Icon_blaugh

as for Sweet Dreams by the Eurythmics, which i love, the ZOMBIES, L'Arc's self-cover band before the reincarnation in 1997 cover Marilyn Manson's cover of that so it was a cover by a cover band of a cover. Icon_lol Icon_blaugh
there's a wee bit of it in this ZOMBIES tv clip.

but, yeah...i'd love to see HYDE and KAZ do more covers. Rolling Stones..almost anything. maybe some Depeche Mode. i actually think HYDE could blast away some early(-mid-late) U2, like New Year's Day or Stay. i'd like to hear some that challenge HYDE's vocalist skills because i know they can certainly rock out instrumentally. but maybe some ballads, there are a lot of lovely rockish ballads out there.
